Gestion DBI ticket emails to former customers / service terminations

Heh, dunno... all the fancy web sites have them! Hazarding a guess, if there's legal action involved then he surely knows who is involved. I'd guess software related.
Interesting twist to the thread, nice that LET has all the infos.
FWIW I'm a current customer, 7 containers and all of them are as they were.
My container is working fully with no downtime for a couple of months.
If he's pursuing legal action against Hostbill, won't he have some problems? I imagine their terms of service releases them from liability for pretty much anything.
I don't understand one thing here, for me stuff are smelling...
So lets assume he's pursuing legal action against HostBill, that would mean that HostBill has a bug that caused this which in turn would mean that we should have seen a bunch of providers experiencing the same thing. If that was the case there would have already been a patch to resolve this and we would have already known about this from other providers since this provider is so secretive. or did HostBill release the patch secretly aswell?
So me personally I believe this is unrelated to HostBill, its related to the provider mis-configuring their billing system, some employee changing settings either on purpose or by mistake causing the system to legitimately terminate services or some mis-configuration on their server causing incorrect dates/times. Or they were compromised. I've never used HostBill, probably will never use it either.
Conclusion, don't trust this provider with anything since who knows you may get your service terminated randomly and never even get an explanation as to why.
The mail is from [email protected], could they have already consulted a lawyer for this?
Will assume that this is an issue with their configuration of a plugin, not an issue with HostBill - I'm suggesting the possibility of him attempting to protect his employees.
@zafouhar From my point of view stated above, I think it's fine for him to protect his employees - will still be buying more from them, once they reopen their billing system fully.
If a concept this simple is beyond your understanding, alas I can help you no further. Good night, sweet prince.
Your attitude and sentences are rude for most but may be normal for you. It'll be neither from me nor from someone else from LET probably but I am sure you'll get what you are seeking for exactly. Sooner or later.
I have no idea what you're talking about.
Oh please, this is LET, they can't afford to take any legal action against anyone. If there's a legal reason anywhere, then it is because if they admit what happened then users can sue them for negligence. As was said:
Edit: well okay, now I see they also sent an e-mail from "Gestion DBI Legal". My guess would be that they made the "legal reason" excuse before sending this last e-mail, and so that's where they got the idea to change the from e-mail address. But I don't have a good explanation if the excuse was made after sending this e-mail, since I can't see them planning a lie so far ahead. So if that was the case then maybe they actually plan to pursue legal action, but I doubt it, I mean even then why would they send a message to clients from their legal department; and they don't even have a legal department, so none of it makes sense anyway lol.
Edit2: yeah such bullshit, if they have a relationship with a lawyer / law firm then you would think they would consult the lawyer / law firm on their legal documents like terms of service, but the terms of service was obviously not written by a lawyer:
Oh really, the only explicit illegal content is child porn?
That is not even grammatically correct.
So you can't upload both, but you can upload one or the other right?
Didn't realize that Canada had States.
It says nothing about the invoice being overdue. So I guess I have to pay all invoices the moment they are generated.
Also a good excuse to not have to say anything
I still get emails from Softlayer about portal downtime even after I terminated services with them years ago.
Heck, I think I have some domains still on their DNS hosting for free.
They have previously used the @legal email for mass mailings too, e.g. in the "IMPORTANT - Update on taxes for Canadian customers" mail.
I'm not saying you're wrong, because I don't know. But your deductive reasoning here is flawed.
i.e. means for example, which implies more things than given.
I'm not dogging you on this one because you're right, the wording is bad. What strikes me is the emulator part. Emulators are not illegal, not even remotely, but it is their service, not mine.
You can't get mad at them for using "and" incorrectly literally one quote above, and then get mad for them for not using it incorrectly. Or is the correct word, because using "and" would imply it had to be illegal in both locations.
This is you grasping for anything you can throw in a LET post.
It is closer to "that is" -- https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/i.e.
Haha, I meant the "local, state, and federal government" part, not "United States of America or Canada".
Yes, yes it is.
Sure is, you don't need to consult a lawyer on your terms of service to consult one on a lawsuit. But I still doubt that they are going to pursue any legal action.
@gsrdgrdghd fair enough. IMO it makes them look less legitimate though, I'm sure they don't have a legal department.
The written communication skills from Gestion throughout this saga have been absolutely shocking.
Sounds right, there'll be a first time though. I've ran out of fingers counting the occasions where a LET gob shite could've got themselves in hot water,
It might be shocking but at least his communicating with his customers, yes a bit unprecedented, with all the emails coming out from them, more people will complain if NO communication was placed to you;
The exact same issue happened with NexHost as I remember, the guy never announced he was closing the location/migration or for whatever reason and people 'had to find out' them selves, a lot of people was annoyed without the communication from the "provider"
Now David has sent out emails (yes, I can understand that it was the same email a fair few times or whatever) However, from what I've just said, seems like no one on this forum (the providers) can win at all.
This is no longer about emails, it's about the reason for services being terminated without notice and what he is not telling customers. The only providers that can't win on here are the ones that are not transparent, if you want protection from members or suspicion stay on WHT.
sooo.. im still on their mailing list despite @davidgestiondbi saying that he terminated my account in his system, such a liar.
Hey; maybe I should read more of the thread or go back to bed!
Hey don't tell me to shut up, I don't dictate shit. You shouldn't dictate what I say! I've been a member of this community for a very long time, you think twice before asking people to leave.
yup, another favorite host. don't complaint :P
colo******, deli****, buy**, vpsbo*** , ince** the lists keep growing
Oh man you got me. That's why this thread was deleted.
Idiot.
This is totally unacceptable... my ramnode openvz server is affected by a network issue and they had the audacity to let me know... do you think it's worth opening a thread for this giant screw up of sending me a notification email?
Whatever you might think and how it looks @Jarland would not protect hosts or prevent complaints, one positive is that he has grown a cast iron set of balls being admin, about time :P
So surely by now it has been decided if legal action was to be taken or was being taken against them? Where is the update?
Update: The FBI is after GestionDBI and all members of management will probably face a 10 year sentence for sending eMails. Justice has won.
Sir, I doubt it.
Exactly. :-)
