soyoustart SYS-IP-1 quick review
SYS-IP-1 BHS 10 mins review, pretty decent deal overall as there is no setup fee atm.
- Network is for sure OVH grade, 1Gbps link speed. Most of the time able to do more than 250Mbps as advertised
- HDD is HGST SATA 7200rpm, at least it's enterprise grade
- Slightly better CPU than on spec page (Xeon W3530 instead of W3520)
- Motherboard Supermicro X8STi, still a desktop grade hardware?
- DDR3 1333 ECC RAM
- Extra IPs are almost free
If you want to test something else, feel free to let me know.

10 mins review!!!!
10 mins review!!!!
You mean DDR3 1066
Should be 1333, OP corrected.
Well, Intel ARK shows DD3 800/1066 for the W3530

You need to understand, it is 11 min review!
dmidecode was showing 1333, may be that just the spd, will double check later.
how did you do this test?
it is secret code. only linux admin get to know.
maybe it has something to do with https://freevps.us/bench.sh
You violated the first rule of the "Secret Linux Admin Club". Prepare for a visit.
damn, probably you're near by... have to go now... seeking for shadows...
@FredQc However, all other methods I have tried was showing 1333. Any other methods I can verify?
I'd call the motherboard a workstation grade. Usually desktop grade mobo doesn't come with names like Xeon and ECC.
I really want to know what the actual box like lol
May be a shoes rack?

I'd prefer USPS shipping box more. The box is free!
I rather not using paper. Since you really need to put a lot of investment in HVAC to avoid fire.
There is no way this Xeon supports 192GB, it max out at 24GB. You should do a Geekbench benchmark and post the link here so we can compare.
The "W" stands for Workstation actualy...
@FredQc
Geekbench result below, first time use this benchmarking script, can't tell it's good or bad.
Score: 7923

Your result is in line with others and even a little better:

I still think dmidecode is wrong :P
True, but I'd not define a mobo supporting Xeon and ECC as desktop grade. It's sort of in the middle of server and desktop grade, so instead of calling it workstation grade, maybe I should say half-server grade?
I think those motherboards where custom made by OVH back in the days, that's why there's no product name and such...
SYS-IP-1 sold out in BHS. Found another interesting deal in BHS which is not listed in US site. AMD Hexa cores.. anyone want to try it out?

I had this server when it was offered in the ovh hosting range back in 2014. Basicaly, it was crap.
Snap the E-SAT4 (MegaRAID Cache + battery) a few days ago.

The mobo using DH67BL (Desktop). http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/desktop-boards/intel-desktop-boards-with-intel-h67-express-chipset/intel-desktop-board-dh67bl.html
