Really want to take over the $40 a month Opteron 1385 2.70GHZ 8GB RAM 2x2TB SATA.
you didn't specify that in the original post
So I posted a link to someonw who is selling their.
No problem, good luck searching.
i could "rent" you half mine. 2TB for $20
If can pay a bit more, @qps has a Core 2 Quad Q9550 with 8G DDR2. You will need to upgrade the disk. Unfortunately, they only have 1T disks avaliable.
CPU however has a slightly higher bench.

Was going to use a full one in RAID 1 config so if a drive fails, I'm safe.
Do you use your server? When did you order? How often does it show up in stock? If it'll be this week, then I can just wait for it to show.
Yeah that isn't a better deal.....
Drives are solid but old-ish no errors at all. i ordered several months ago when they had the offer.
and it's only used for a Windows dedup backup
HDD's http://puu.sh/g86Yx/20bec04d02.png
So they don't have the offer anymore?
@camjac251 QuickPacket is doing $10 off on the Dual Xeon L5420, which makes the system $39 per month (coupon code LETXEON39), or $20 off the Dual Xeon L5520 with makes the system $49 per month (coupon code LETXEON49).
I need 2TB of disk space though, or 4TB. which dacentec offers for $40 a month
@camjac251
there is a simple way to find out if they are going to get stock soon or change the pricing; contact them!
I did, hours ago
@camjac251 You can't transfer servers between accounts with them, so you'll need to wait for stock. As I said in the other thread, stock is refilled during (sales) business hours.
Setup UptimeRobot to check the page every 5-15 mins - look for "opteron" or the pricing ($35/$40).
Other options are SYS (gotta watch for stock too): http://www.soyoustart.com/ca/en/essential-servers/
or Hetzner (can get 2x3TB with 16GB and i7 for ~24 Eur)
If you are ok with 4x1TB drives, we will do it for $39.
@qps ill take that offer
Order it here with one drive and then open a ticket referencing this thread and I'll change the config. We only have a few of these servers in stock. I'll put a limit of 6 on this offer, once 6 have been ordered it is over. Only for new customers or existing customers adding additional servers.
@qps ATL only or Vegas too?
ATL only.
@qps Thanks for the deal! Done paided!
We can do a Dual L5420 with 2x1TB in LA for $39 (but the servers won't be there until Wednesday).
@qps - Same IP Pricing as ATL? with that LA Server?
@qps Could I hassle you for a test IP & file in LA?
@qps Wish you had a 2x2TB server. Would be nice to have Raid 1 incase a drive failed.
just use a hubiC mirror instead (backup)
I want to run a plex server though, could hubic work with it?
It's called a RAID 10. I'd happily take 4x1TB over 2x2TB any day, much better I/O and still allows for single drive failure.
4x1TB > 2x2TB = RAID10 / RAID1.
with expandrive yes.
but good for mirroring drives in general. saves the need for raid then.
So with 4x1TB what raid options would I have and how much usable space?
