Raspberry pi on steroids
Looks interesting, quad core and can run Ubuntu arm edition.http://www.hardkernel.com/renewal_2011/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G133999328931

Hmm interesting. Price is a bit high though, maybe they can do volume and bring it down.
Well, it has more processor (like the triple).
More RAM (quadruple).
A better GPU.
More USB ports.
A mic port
Isn't very bad.
Still at that price I prefer to get an Atom mobo... xD
MK802 is better

http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/07/mk802-android-4-0-mini-pc-hands-on-impressions
Or a Mele A1000/A2000 for that matter: http://www.cnx-software.com/2012/04/04/mele-a2000-android-2-3-media-player-powered-by-allwinner-a10/
Besides Android, these can simply boot Debian, Ubuntu or other distro from an SD card.
MK802 is now down to $60.99 with free shipping.
I use one as my home server: http://romanrm.ru/en/a10/mk802-server
Cool gadgets.
But I can't see in what sense they are better.
I think RPi is overrated. There will be tons of cheaper pocket servers in 6 months from now. I believe 20 dollars will be the price soon enough (maybe not 20 dollars in 6 months yet).
I believe the future is for boxes like current router bricks powered by arm of all kinds and memory at an average of 1 GB+ some flash 16 GB+ or even 2.5 drives. A price for that would be like 100 $ for the hdd one and about 40 or so the flash version depending a lot on connectivity.
Feel free to revisit this and see how wrong I was in 6 months :P
M
40% price but like 80% value, i.e. better bang for the buck.
I like more the MK02, and I have 4 RPis now
But I can't see the 80%
Single core processor (dual?).
Less RAM.
Less ports.
But the Mele A2000 is more interesting indeed.
No way @yomero just look at this beauty:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Smallest-Android-4-0-1GB-DDR3-MK802-A10-HDMI-WIFI-Google-TV-Player-Box-Mini-PC-/320933605374?pt=US_Internet_Media_Streamers&hash=item4ab9222ffe
and with 32GB SDCARD-... juicy!
question: the A10 is dual core or single core?
Yes, a single-core CPU;
RAM is the same (most MK802 sold now are 1024MB models);
Less ports, sure, but it's so small;
Available today http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale/wholesale-MK802.html?SortType=total_tranpro_desc&SortType=y
for ~$61 shipped; vs preorder for $129 + $30 shipping.
bah, single core u.u I want dual core! It is an amazing Torrent box =D
btw, this is fake, right?

@netomx
this is just a different device, this one just has Android but will not run GNU/Linux.
You need to ensure you get the Allwinner A10 CPU, not something else (Telechips in this case).
The A10 is a wonderful system, in the aspect that it just boots any distro from an SD card you insert. And there's a lot of work done towards making it work well not just in android but also in general-use distributions like Debian, Ubuntu, Puppy, etc: http://liliputing.com/2012/07/linux-distributions-that-can-run-on-an-mk802-mini-pc.html
A lot of info about it in the wiki http://rhombus-tech.net/allwinner_a10/
@rm_ I have worked with u-boot and Via chips, so maybe I can install the system on the internal NAND and have a sd card slot free dam i want one! @yomero do you want to buy me a RPi? Just the cost with shipping
Those specs look almost like the GS2
I think it is a dev board for tablet developers/designers
OMG torrenting in a micro SD :S
Space isn't the main concern for me when you are sacrificing a lot of performance. But still, the 1GB of ram sounds great.
How much? Le'ts talk via PM :P
Edit: What model? xD
32GB class 10? FTW!
Model? it is just 1 model atm ¬¬
I didn't know =|
I guess is the one with Ethernet
Even so, to minimize io I think you can cache a lot with 1 gb of ram, there can be optimizing to a degree.
That, of course, if you use it only for that.
Edit: Besides, I suppose you can attach a 2.5 usb hdd ?
M
You guessed right!
It's more powerful than that.
It's actually the GS3's specs.
Looks cool, hope they lower the price soon.
