VPS Monitoring - Uptime Statistics: Needed for unreliable provider

I have a yearly VPS deal with a provider that is not doing so well around here in the reputation department. Although I have monitoring setup on the VPS, the provider seems to have a method to crash the VPS without triggering the monitoring. After finding my VPS offline again, I'd like to set up some external, free or cheap monitoring. Please can someone provide suggestions on good monitoring services?

Tried uptimerobot?
If you want I can add you to my uptime server and you can run a small php script and it will define if you are up or not.

-or-
setup your own copy.
Nice!
statuscake!
"Outages" Looks cool. Is it open-source?
You are so f*cking awesome 8)
Did you setup a copy?
Maybe....
As a note I am still working on patching it up and I mean a lot. There is a few issues with uptime.php that is run on remote computers and other issues involving phones and the outage page.
On a side note, I highly suggest people look instead at Server Status 3 by @mojeda. He is adding a ton of new features and improvements.
I love his Galley script.
Indeed, it is very nice. It is what I rebuilt for https://www.enjen.net/popcorn/
Yeap.
It's indeed a very awesome version
Add a randomizer where the link is a image itself, so no redirect just imagecreate.
Move.
You can set up all the monitoring in the world and it's not going to resolve the problem.
so you want a non-redirect image randomizer as well? I can probably do that, just need a confirmation.
Also mind PM'ing me the link to your status, I want to see how it is working and look for improvements, if you have any pm me that as well.
Was it easy to setup?
