kimsufi.ie $20/m for 1TB cant get better than that for backup.
Already got that. Looking at a secondary one.
Anyway I'm writing PMs to everyone that commented so far.
Get a secondary Kimsufi then?
Or Hetzner?
I have to disagree - the $20 kimsufi only has a single hard drive.
I know, it's "just backups" but while I'm willing to use RAID-protected disk as a backup destination, a single hard drive is just asking for trouble. Particularly when it's on a dedi that's probably been resold multiple times and people have beaten the crap out of.
The kimsufi does come with 100GB of FTP space, however.
Two kimsufis that rsync or whatever is a bit more trustworthy.
@debug - 200GB is $20/month on Amazon S3 with free inbound bandwidth. You need to be careful about the per-action fee ($.01 per 1,000 PUTs) but if you tar up that's not an issue. Rackspace Files are about the same but without the per-action fee. I use the s3cmd utility to backup to S3, among other places.
Well, I am running a special on my home raid setup.
You can get the following:
*No abuse, no bandwidth exhaustion and APC Battery backup.
*More info on the server and techie stuff.
*4x2TB Disks with one hotspare connected to my netbook.
*110Mbps inbound and 3Mbps outbound.
*To cover myself while not home, 95% uptime/mo.
*Assigned shared IP with FTP/rsync setup.
*Dedicated IP is additional $5/mo
Only $25/mo + $50 deposit.
Derek? DEREK? Hello?
I think Derek dropped dead in the middle of posting that.
@raindog308, post above
Thank God. The prospect of having to do mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on a demon was most unappealing.
Here's a LEB post that I think is still available:
