Well there's SparkleShare, server is just git repository.
I can't think of really any alternatives off the top of my head, I assume getting more RAM isn't an option?
I've been playing with Pydio, though I haven't tested it in a low RAM environment.
Seafile is pretty cool, too, but again I haven't tried doing it in a low RAM environment.
Both of those strictly do file storage/sharing - there's no calendar/contacts element like ownCloud has.
Seafile is pretty good.

They said its fixed but they didnt such bad, no additional ram i cant.
For images, resourcespace may be an alternative, but I don't know about the memory requirements.
Ugh, some Git builds have bad handling of large files.
Your issue is most likely due to PHP. You need a different backend. Why not SMB shares or BTSync?
btsync runs perfect on my 64mb box. So, it is a good option.
@Infinity580 what are you really looking for? Do you need a web interface? Are you just looking to sync files? Overall for me owncloud just does almost everything for me and runs great on a 256mb vps i have with 1000gb of storage.
@PcJamesy tried to dowload 300MB files?
@Infinity580 i have an 18GB file that i know i can download just fine. I know there is some issues with downloading large files off owncloud if your using a 32bit version of linux to host it. I actually couldn't download >2GB files with a 32bit os http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/10667/help-configuring-php-to-allow-downloads-greater-then-2gb-32-bit-os
@PcJamesy what Webserver etc are you running owncloud with?
@Infinity580 apache2
http://syncthing.net/ ?
http://alternativeto.net/software/syncthing/?license=opensource
AeroFS ?
@PcJamesy Yes, using apache2 fixed it, seems like a lighttpd and owncloud issue. Thanks
i use http://pyd.io/ its really nice has way more features than owncloud
Wow, thanks for the share. This looks really good. Been trying to get owncloud to install on my server for a while now, maybe this is a better option.
Nice find!
