not a good start..
"This Connection is Untrusted"
Understandable. SSL cert is self signed at the moment. It will be signed by a trusted CA prior to launch. Just got to excited for this announcement, and wanted to get it out there.
where is the server?
Located in Chicago
Here we go again. chicago where, Which DC, is this with CC?
Ordered VPS was setup instantly.
Received NO email. Had to use the email history function in WHMCS.
Got one.
Thanks
Rapta, none at all?
Nothing in my inbox/spam
Email ends with @me.com
Rapta, ok, thanks for the heads up. Ill check into this. We are still in pre launch, working out the small bugs is also the reason for this pre launch
@bpsRobert What can you offer for $12/year?
It is Continuum.
@bpsRobert
You should have posted the DC and test IP.
Yes, thats correct, it is Continuum DC. Why? Have others had issues with this DC?
What's the network speed?
@Saiku - Gbit uplink on the host node. You can test ping/latency to: 192.208.184.10
@bpsRobert
Hmm..
Download speed from CacheFly: 1.90MB/s Download speed from Coloat, Atlanta GA: 1.96MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Dallas, TX: 1.90MB/s Download speed from Linode, Tokyo, JP: 1.12MB/s Download speed from i3d.net, NL: 1.05MB/s Download speed from Leaseweb, Haarlem, NL: 921KB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Singapore: 703KB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Seattle, WA: 1.50MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, San Jose, CA: 215KB/s
might want to take a look on the download uplink or they're limited to x amount of mbit per vps?
@Saiku - Definately not rate limiting on the VPS's... can you give me the download links you're using? I'd like to check that speed on one of the VPS's. If this is the case, then i'll be raising some hell shortly.
@bpsRobert
it's this
http://freevps.us/bench.sh
@Saiku - never mind, it was indeed rate limited. Apparently some default config options are 100mbit. I've reset all of that, as all of our plans are intended to be Gigabit ports.
@Saiku - You should see better speeds now.
@bpsRobert
rebooted the VPS, trying the bench.sh again. Will let you know the result.
@bpsRobert
doesn't seem to be increasing :x

@Saiku - I just ran the same benchmark script on a test VPS on that node that i spun up - with this result for cachefly:
System uptime : 43 min,
Download speed from CacheFly: 28.3MB/s
I see your VPS listed, and its had its rate limiting removed. Want to try a reboot and re-test?

It's still the same (Rebooted it about 3 times already :v)
@bpsRobert What can you offer for $12/year?
@Saiku - Ok, im investigating further.
@WellGrounded - Thats a bit less than what our bottom line will allow. Sorry
@Saiku - I spun up another test VPS using the same OS you chose, Debian 32bit, and am getting 40mb/sec to cachefly. can you open a ticket in the system so we can communicate there? I'd like to do some troubleshooting on your VPS.
My speed:
I made some resource changes on the Host node, i'll need to reboot it for a couple of changes to take effect.
