Fortaleza, Brazil VPS
As Fortaleza in Brazil is soon getting a fibre optic cable running from Portugal I am interested in a VPS there. I found some options googling, but the pricepoint is on another magnitude compared to EU/US. If anyone knows any good options for basic 0,5GB-1GB VPS with small storage, recommendations would be appreciated. Maximum pricepoint is around 15$/month. Good connectivity between US and rest of SA would be cool, but I guess you cannot expect too much. EllaLink connectivity in 2021 would be superb, and would allow for extra budget of course.
Is anyone else surprised there isn't already a AWS/Azure/Google (Hetzner?) datacenter in Fortaleza? 2021 would have cables running between 4 continents..

https://www.locaweb.com.br is perhaps the cheapest in Brazil I guess? But you would need to be able to read/write Portuguese and have RG/CPF before they can accept you as a customer?
I came across them, but I cannot seem to find any verification that you can actually get the pricing they advertise on their website in Fortaleza. Do you know of any sources that state otherwise? Thanks!

29.9 Brazilian currency for 2CPU , 1GB ram - (under 6 USD / month). Not bad I guess?
I have not used them as I couldn't find a solution regarding the RG/CPF requirement - otherwise I would have added it to my collection box
On a side note, would you insist on hosting in Brazil? Or somewhere that is not so near but still has good connection speed?
As I explained in my OP, I am interested in the good connectivity Fortaleza will soon have between 4 continents... Also I found their pricing alright, but again, I don't see any mention of Fortaleza as a location. I found some mentions of them having a DC in Sao Paolo, from where you can get AWS/Azure/GCP anyway. RG/CPF requirement doesn't look like a major issue.
Not easy to find one, but I think I just did: https://www.speedcloud.com.br/contato
Still, need the RG/CPF, but with this pricing I might just get one. Basically you just need a Brazilian consulate to help
Hello, I am from Brazil.
I'm going to look for you a DC in Fortaleza.
DC in Sao Paulo are more popular.
I work in a DC, but I'm not eligible to make offers (yet).
I do not recommend Locaweb, unstable service.
Good to know you have found a vps that you like. Any review or benchmark?
Let's get a provider tag
Hello, I wonder if you managed to find those VPS providers in Fortaleza. Could you please share their contact info with us here if that is indeed the case?
I will do some research and get back to you with options.
Edit:
Ascenty has a data center in Fortaleza, but I couldn't find any prices.

HostDime has a data center near Fortaleza.

Quantive Host seems to be a good option.
https://www.quantivehost.com.br/
In São Paulo, it is much easier to find servers. If the idea is to serve content to Brazil, this is undoubtedly the best place.
The core idea would be to serve people on all three continents with a gaming server. Fortaleza would be in the middle for a lot of people once you can actually get routes with EllaLink.
I had a bad experience with quantivehost
South and southeast Brazil are the developed locations, so the northeast and especially the north are extremely rare to find a commercial datacenter.
Nearer to Fortaleza.
Hostzone
There is a Brazilian webhostingtalk version.
Portal do host
I found a provider that doesn't require Brazilian tax numbers. Not much experience so far but their location and networking seems to be what they promise. Pricing is not bad either: https://gcore.com/pricing/hosting/
Again, Fortaleza, Brazil. No access to Ellalink as such when it comes to EU traffic, but with the right VPN you might find some.
Consider using IPXON. They have three locations in Brazil one being in Fortaleza.

$7, with dual stack (native v6) and even ability to do BGP sessions in these locations these guys are A+ in our experience
necrolet
Ha, you're right. didnt even notice OP posted this a couple of years ago
And? I found this provider only recently. They don't exactly grow on trees just like Greenland locations... (There is Comby.gl but they don't sell outside DK lol)
Yes and I'm still the OP and still looking for more Fortaleza providers - though at the moment I'm much more in need of a EU location that has routing through EllaLink. EllaLink has been active for over a year but still not many routes to be seen! Talk about a necro 100Tbit/s submarine cable lol!
o2 / telefonica, as my research a few weeks ago.
Not really anyone seems to use it, DE-CIX seems to apparently did partner up with them, but has little to non use.
Yes, I've read their press releases also about Equinix SP4, LS1 and MD2 - but you cannot even find these DCs in their looking glass (except SP4, from which you can find not much).. I guess it is just too expensive. The only route I've found for cheap so far is Noping. You can see their Grupo IP BR routing with the Vultr VPS they seem to be using 179.189.118.66 (Fortaleza server) with Vultr looking glass from Madrid: https://mad-es-ping.vultr.com/
93ms from Frankfurt to Brazil, DE-CIX, not bad.

50% latency cut.
Push.
Still same results

Contabo, ANEXIA is false flagged.
No hosting provider yet, that just offers cloud servers sadly.
G-Core Labs might be an option.
They don't use EllaLink sadly.
You may consider LightNode VPS. 1 vCPU, 2GB RAM is only $7.7/mo. Also, they billed hourly which you can change IP oftenly.

No aff link : https://www.lightnode.com
Also no ellalink transit, sadly.
Yes - as I replied earlier, that's who I am using. It works for EllaLink using NoPing from Europe.
Its more like a hack and quite expensive too, but valid.
Just got an email, about a query I send months ago.
I first thought it was spam or phishing, but its legit.
IPXON apparently got Ella transit, need to test it though.
