(Sadly? ) it’s a normal RS2000, not the discounted one
there you go. last RS for today - Black Storm.
again no surprise but big disk (as expected) for the money though: https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=2813
Woo, ordered!
grats, I think you can't go wrong with that... feeling that urge again. luckily enough I managed to grab the notebook I was watching for at the price I was hoping for this morning. this helps a lot with not spending on unneeded things. at least till next week or so.
PS: also seems like there is quite some of the other offers still available. the list can be found here https://www.netcup-sonderangebote.de/
Thanks for mentioned this one. i just ordered it, the last one for today.
You can always pull the ethernet plug . Thanks for posting all the links again, very helpful! Good luck fighting the urge on Cyber Monday or next month...
Netcup deals used to be gone, within minutes.
Most of it still in stock, what does that they duh.
Prices are good indeed, but paying 12 months in advance and 12 month commitment it's a no go for me.
It can make sense for some people, but I always ended up paying for services I no longer needed.
@Falzo and everyone. All offers are now available again!
RS2000, and all of them.
To eat or not to eat, that is the question ...
Speaking of which, I literally did not eat since this morning (except a pack of 3 biscuits it that counts). I need to get some food at some point today.
I was also thinking in terms of spending one's money for food on servers instead
I totally missed that. busy buying naranjatech flash sale 🤷♂️😂
I got myself a RS2000 G9 for BF21. Here's a benchmark result:
The SSD in particular is too slow. I will ask what's up with that.
Yeah it's really a lottery with those netcup drives
indeed, maybe it takes them a while to sort out abusers that try to plot chia or the likes...
Luckily you can get your money back within 30 days. I'm still optimistic that they can improve the SSD performance to an acceptable level.
Here is my RS2000 G9 BF21 benchmark
PS how do you get the nice yellow format?
use < pre > tags < /pre > (without spaces)
Ok, i edited my post..thanks
Your SSD speed looks much better than mine.
If they don't fix it within 30 days i will return mine. I need non-stop decent SSD performance.
They told me that I/O performance can also be limited if you have used too much I/O in the past by the way.
Got my RS2000 G9 earlier this year for the same price €11.20/m. A great value for money
How much is "too much" ?
probably opening a ticket will help. one should not wait for the problem to be solved on its own. Also, refund policy is 14 days. So if you message them 30 days later, you will get a "sorry no cancellation".
for the RS line they offer a 30 day satisfaction guarantue. while they might want you to claim it by that term instead of asking for a 'cancellation' , it still should allow for getting a refund within 30 days ;-)
@Falzo
Oh my bad. Sorry for giving an inaccurate info.
Also, a slightly stupid question but how does one compare "dedicated" VDS cores (like the RS), to a fully dedicated CPU? For comparing two dedis, cpu passmark + looking at number of cores and frequency works. Also if I have access to the server, I usually run a couple of videos encode, and some other CPU intensive tasks for the sake of comparison.
But what about VDS vs Dedi? Coming from an E3-1280 , how do I compare that to a netcup RS? does it give similar performance to an RS1000? RS2000? I am fairly certain the RS 4000 will give superior performance though.
I usually run geekbench and first thing would be to compare the single thread result to some dedi result with the same cpu. the geekbench browser helps with randomly checking a few. if the single thread result is comparable or at least close to what you get from dedis, that's a good point in my books.
second thing then is the multi threading score. ideally that should scale properly according to the cores you bought. so if you bought 4 dedicated cores and get a single speed result of let's say 800 points I'd expect the multi threaded score to ideally be in the range of 2500-3000.
anyway keep in mind, that virtual cores in the end are exactly that - virtual. the hostnode stil puts them on threads and if you for instance get the power of a bursted single core or just that of shared thread will depend on the overall amount of customers on that box.
Here's mine for RS 2000 G9 20 Prozent Rabatt (10,73€ + VAT):
My node CPU is working hard!
