I'm looking for few VPS's from around the world for a Status Monitoring platform which was one of my side projects and now being developed as a standalone product.
IPv4/v6 connectivity is a must.
Email ports can be blocked.
Main use case,
- Ping checks
- HTTP/HTTPS checks
- various port checks
All of these will be only possible for registered customers, so it won't be public port scanning sort of thing.
RAM - 512MB+
HDD/SSD(preferred) - 10GB+
Port - 100Mbps(1Gbps if possible) - metered around 500GB range is OK [Burst is OK]
Other specs are not that much important. TIA
Comments
Monitoring Ports used to be a simple task.
@WebHorizon could probably help you with this.
For NAT VPS:
@Cam
@WebHorizon
Oneprovider? All el-cheapo in one place.
Ha Ha. I agree. But with increasing complexity of things, it's not so simple anymore.
Thank you. Not sure if NAT would work with this specific use case thought due to the natty nature. Will surely give it a go.
Thank you for the mention.
I have not-so-good experience with OneProvider. But looking for something from LET hosts as I trust many of them more than 1p
I have used them at no problem. But 50 locations Worldwide for $3 per month a nice deal. If 500 Gb BW enough for you. Also can set block traffic if over.
We can take care of you in the Netherlands. For your use case we can swing $20/yr. PM if interested.
If NAT works for you https://budgetvm.host got nice and cheap offers.
For offers with dedicated IP (starting at around one Euro per month) take a Look at https://kts24.com
All offers are located in the Netherlands.
https://lg.nl.haendler.it
£15/year in the UK any good? Have a few left on offer.
virmach/racknerd + tunnelbroker?
Not so cheap but we do not use NAT https://www.robovps.biz/en/vps/136-pluto.html (about 1,43€ per month). Location is Frankfurt at Main, Germany.
What specs?
1Core/1GB/20GB SSD/2TB @ 200Mbps
Nothing particularly fancy but a decent little workbox for the price. Promo is TopVPS21 on the Tritium VPS.
You should check out our LET Offers The KVMVPS200 should do what you want.
Thanks for the mention @DP and @devp !
many people use nat for hobby projects,
however, we also got Poland Japan and Singapore VPS with dedicated IPs : https://my.webhorizon.in/order/main/index/ovz
still valid promo for Poland 512MB is about US$12
May I suggest! HostYD.org visit the website and build your customize VPS. their support is very good

Save some budget for HostHatch black Friday. I'm sure they'll have a deal for a shit ton of locations.
also take a look at @mikho mrvm.net he provides stable and solid service
I have the HostHatch bundle for $110/year and am planning to do what you describe, which supports both V4/V6 protocols.
Will give them a try again. Thank you.
Will do. I think 20 is perfect.
Not sure if my script play nice with NAT. Should run some tests on it to see.
Thank you.
We couldn't find any solid Japan IIRC, I'm compiling an excel with all the data. Thank you.
It looks good. But 7 is a little bit on the expensive side considering I'm planning on having 10-15 locations at the start. And there are other costs involved like page speed measure daemons on EC2.
Thank you for the suggestion. 42 days... I'll probably not launch before that. So will take a look at their deals too.
Thank you. Will take a look.
I don't remember that offer, what exactly was in it? o.O
@all, Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions. Will update this thread with a link and a promo code once we launch (There will be a free version too)

Check the providers I use for dnstools.ws as the use case is fairly similar.

Hi, what are you using to make the map on the locations page, I'm looking to do something similar in one of my projects, escpecially with the dark theme.
It's a GeoChart using the Google Charts API, with a custom dark theme.

Was going to suggest your project to OP. Their idea Seemed to resonate
