https://www.kimsufi.com/ca/en/order/kimsufi.xml?reference=1804sk181 (Dollars)
Seems to be €8.99 /month instead of €14.99 /month ($10.99/mo instead of $17.99/mo)
Decent deal for an i3 with 2TB of HDD attached, grabbed one, couldn't resist.
Seems to be more in stock, so get 'em before the mjjs do
Edit: Thanks https://checkservers.ovh/

If it only had an SSD...
Use 4GB of RAM as cache?
Has been available for some time
OVH has a tendency to have secret SKU's
Yeah, that's an option, thanks.
P.S. I ordered 1 as well.
Yup, that's a bit of a bargain! I've been paying €10.79/m since Dec 2018 (France).
It has been rock solid, as a Nextcloud repository, amongst other things.
Challenge accepted.
Nextcloud is my plan too here, it's not a bad price at all really.
I needed storage, I already have my SSD needs covered
nothing new.
@dahartigan
I have mine running Proxmox with a few VMs in NAT mode, one being the Nextcloud instance. This makes better use of the RAM (and CPU), rather than a dedicated Nextcloud file server.
New to me.. lol Sorry if this is like announcing that they've just discovered Australia
I'm getting Proxmox on now, it'll be pretty much doing exactly the same as yours. I also plan to move my sabnzbd and transmission lxc containers there too, despite only being 100mbit.
I install Proxmox on everything. I love me some proxmox.
kimsufi is still 100 Mbit capped right?
Well, its the best you can get for the price right now, so yea, get one.
Seems to be, but it's a very solid maxed out 100mbit if that counts? lol
Indeed, I was tempted to get the KS-3 but the Atom is garbage. Found this deal for virtually the same price with an i3, which isn't exactly a supercomputer but it's no fucking atom lol

I am very impatient even for linux iso's downloading.
100 mbit is no go for me, thank you.
Getting Proxmox 7 working has been quite a ride so far. From Debian 9 template, upgraded to Debian 10, then installed Proxmox which killed the networking, some time in rescue later and I'm back up and running.
Basically they really over-complicate networking, and second you need to disable cloud-init.
@AlwaysSkint have you upgraded to pve7 on these yet? The general upgrade from pve6 to pve7 was interesting enough, with some of my older containers no longer booting on Ubuntu 16.04, which is a great way to force me to keep them updated, even though they aren't internet-facing.. lol
Not buying
Why not mjj?
MJJ Too expensive
Your budget is way too low then

I am a bargain hunter
How were you able to choose orangewebsite?
I know what (one of) his next thread(s) will be about..
I lied to him
the signup is a joke, doesnt accept a real phone number ... dont know whats wrong
and no contact info for the company, so of course i cant ask them why they are not accepting my phone number(s) etc ...
FYI the dollarz link is coming up as $12.99/mo (not $10.99). (Euro link still 8.99/mo, though)
Hey yeah, they changed it. My invoice was $22.98 all up, including the setup fee.... maybe go for the EUR before they change it too!
I was able to get it to $10.99/m on US site
https://www.kimsufi.com/us/en/order/kimsufi.xml?reference=1804sk181
You have to use the country code first. Example "+18888888888"
@dahartigan When I remember, I always disable cloud-init: it's a PITA! Simplest solution is to always install from minimal/network, rather than provider supplied templates.
IIRC, the network issue is due to changes in the way the network is defined at OS level. There's an easy way to circumvent the issue, which was mentioned in another thread someplace. If it suddenly comes back to me..
[Edit]
I think it may have been..
apt install iproute2
[Edit2]
Courtesy of @bdl
I was close.
I got it all sorted, some of the fun was the dual references to eth0 and eno1 and working out what the actual IPv6 gateway was.
That assumes they know that other places exist offshore (sic) and there's a need for country codes. Cue the B52s, .. own private Idaho.
Ahh yeah ifupdown2 got me on another occasion. The one time I didn't run the install under tmux and it killed the network. Lucky that provider has an awesome ipmi
