Freedom of speech provider in Europe?
I have been looking around at the companys here, some good, some bad, however in most of their ToS it appears they don't allow "hateful" or "radical" content. I suppose this is because of DDoS attacks? I'm not saying the website I want to run on is "hateful" however many people will see it that way. The views of the site could also be considered radical and highly political. It would be protected with CloudFlare though, so no one will know who hosts it and help avoid DDoS problems.
So if anyone can provide me a VPS for under $6 located anywhere in Europe who will accept my views, that would be great. I need at least 300MB RAM, and a decent amount of disk space and bandwidth, I don't want to ask for too much.
Thanks in advance.

Romania is a hive for such things I assume, most other illegal crap goes on there or in a certain network.
Firstly, it is not illegal in Europe, just radical. Secondly it is not "crap". Thirdly, there aren't any decent LEB providers in Romania as I'm sure you know.
Does anyone have a proper suggestion?
Edis has Romania location now.
I'm on about Romania being used for illegal activities so I'm pretty sure freedom of speech would be fine lol.
The site I would host is against EDIS's ToS, also they are very uptight about what is and isn't legal. EDIS don't provide freedom of speech.
Romania is no more used for illegal activities than israel, russia, argentina or US. It is true here internet is so wide spread that itis very hard to keep tabs on people and there are shared networks where nobody keeps any logs, in my home i have a router for one, it used to have 2k users when a few smaller united, but now only 400 left, maybe even less because internet became so cheap it is not longer feasible to share it.
Anyway, I was saying the romanian networks are not built with censorship in mind, that makes them more suitable for hosting questionable content. However, it is much harder with datacenters, tho the degree of freedom is still much higher than in similar facilities in the US or UK.
Are you able to give some further details on this, although you are correct about the terms of most providers that is not to say some will not work with you?
PM if you do not want to start a pop corn thread.
Anthony.
ixam-hosting.com maybe?
I don't know if they like such a site you want to run. I guess it's a right-wing site, isn't it?
I have sent you a message.
Yes. And? Seeing as 55% of the population in the UK vote for right-wing parties, and we have a right-wing government right now, I don't see the problem.
Iceland has the best freedom of speech laws for political speech. 1984Hosting.com, Ecodissident.net, and OrangeWebsite.com are all Icelandic companies but their plans are over $6. Edis (Austria) also has servers in Iceland and low end plans. Urpad has servers in Iceland but I would avoid them because they're a US company and subject to US laws.
PS If you're worried about free speech and are publishing political content, then using Cloudflare is a bad idea because they're a US company and if you read CloudFlare's TOS, free speech is not very high on their priority list and they do willingly cooperate with the US government (i.e. they share information and will shut sites down).
If your definition of free speech is "porn" then Romania would be a good choice but for publishing political speech NO.
Well, apart from EDIS (who don't support free speech) I have been very interested in the Iceland location anyway, I have been looking for about a month. Shame IcelandVPS.com shut down.
Also, thanks for the CloudFlare suggestion.

They offer Iceland VPS.
Please don't misunderstand me. I don't have anything against any kind of political view as long as they don't make trouble. I'm liberal-minded and I tolerate their opinion.
Also have a look at reg.ru. They have very decent VPS but I don't know if they like Fos (possibly not)
Those packages are far too low.
@IxamHosting Cinipac is too unpredictable. One of Cinipac Romanian server was confiscated, and then at some other occasion after long unexplained downtime they also decided to terminate all VPSs from their LET offer http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/10894/cinipac-rant/
Is anyone here willing to offer? PM me if you would rather not in public.
@Spirit I didnt know that.
They are just one i remember that offers Iceland VPS.
Just wondering what they hosted that the Node got confiscated?

Later they said this:
Today we get the details from romanian police and CERT-RO Team. Their request was based on another German police as a result of hacking activities initiated from a VPS customer.
I have to call BS on that. CloudFlare is regularly criticized for refusing to take down controversial sites -- even ones advocating illegal activity. Some of the most controversial sites in the world right now, sites that the US government would love to see go away, are online largely because of CloudFlare. Wikileaks, for one.
I highly doubt @jater hosts a site more controversial than Wikileaks.
The stance CloudFlare's taken in regards to not policing content should be applauded by anyone who cares about free speech and their blogs on the subject are well worth a read.

most of Eastern Europe is now in the EU, they basically have the same laws, about the hateful, well if you plan on running some anti-jewish or anti-USA website forget about it, anti-communist websites are permitted, and anti-russian websites are ok I guess, the hate is still there (see USSR). about the freedom of speech, well your speech is free as long as you don't bother anyone important, then you become an anarchist, and if you turn violent you become a terrorist.
So you are calling me autistic for my political views (shared by 26% of the rest of the UK)? You are wrong. Go cry somewhere else.
It will be legal within EU law, what you said was rubbish.
Well, while I dont agree with your views, you should be able to publish them..
Ask Finalhosting.cz (will fit your budget) and NQHost (.ru - low mem for 7$) plan maybe but its rock solid, 2-3 notices of downtime for 400+ days. XEN. Good luck on your hunt, we need more providers, actually providing freedom of speech
We could care less about what is being said on sites hosted via VPS's on our servers. So long as you do not break any laws then its all fair game. Though we currently only have one location and nothing outside of the US.
Edit:
I will also point out our TOS is still being worked on to get it up to date and fully customized for our business model but will still allow for freedom of speech.
Maybe @william can shed some light
Hate speech is not the same as political speech
What makes you think it is hate speech?! I never actually said what it was. Right wing politics isn't "hate".
Your OP?
I'm curious as how you could believe people could "misconstrue" it as hate unless you know you are probably saying something hateful
Well actually, while many people would see some political views hateful, others see them just as common sense. You would be suprised. It is better I say someone could be offended and asking for permission beforehand than just setting up the site on anyone's server. As you can see, not many hosts are willing to host this kind of content.
