From the release page, it looks so exciting!!!
YOLO, lets upgrade and crash PRODUCTION
Good news! Seems like performance is really better.
When I wrote all the scripts myself, I would upgrade in a blink, and fix whatever goes wrong afterwards.
Now I have
composer
so I'll have to wait for the dependencies to support the new version before attempting to upgrade.Well, most of my stuff runs on 7.4 anyway, so without JIT, there is not much improvement. Can wait a bit.
Nope. Can't. I'll lose millions.
Centmin Mod LEMP stack's latest beta has PHP 8.0 updates support now https://community.centminmod.com/threads/php-8-0-0-ga-stable-release.20739/
The fact that it took PHP 25 years to realize this is wrong is one of the many reasons PHP is so pathetic.
Not millions.
It should be billions per hour.
So what do you propose we should use?

It's about freaking time.
Nice. But you’ll need to use WordPress 5.6 RC1 or you will get 404 errors.
Already figured some of my scripts using XML are broken. Should take some time to do some debugging and get ready for the future. We still have 1-2 years to go.
Does it work better with Lightspeed Cache for wordpress than PHP7?
People who are still complaining about hosts not supporting PHP 5
