Looking For A Ubuntu VPS Provider w/ Root or Sudo access And A Nice Panel
Hi, I am looking for a VPS provider for a project.
I am working with a team of students from around the globe to create a weather station kit to sell to students wanting to get into the internet of things. We are selling a kit to make an ESP32 powered weather station that connects to our website and allows the customer to view their weather data from anywhere. Check out our current website here: weatherstationproject.com or here: danielalexis.pt
Requirements for the VPS:
-Must be Ubuntu
-Have a nice panel
-No server conflicts with apps such as Nginx and Mail Servers
-Good user support
-If possible, panel options to one-click install apps like WordPress, mail servers, etc
-Root access (or Sudo)
We are also willing to do sponsorships and promote your service

Hello,
Is this non-profit? What are your ram/cpu needs? I would be glad to sponsor you if it is not for profit. I like your idea and I am willing to offer you the resources you need.
Let me know.
Best Regards!
Almost 99% provider here able to provide what you mentioned. The things need to be detailed are:
Also I think you need a more expensive managed service rather than unmanaged one, CMIIW.
Would Directadmin work? It supports Ubuntu.
Francisco
Could you give us more details about your hardware requirements? For example, how much storage, RAM or CPU cores should your virtual server have. And do you have any preferences for the management panel? HestiaCP for example, is an open source alternative to some of the better known commercial solutions, such as Plesk, cPanel or DirectAdmin, that also runs on top of Ubuntu. And you can easily install it yourself on any regular Ubuntu server, no need to rely on a provider to preinstall the panel for you.
Plesk support Ubuntu, so you are welcome to us.
Hey Michael
Our KVM VPS packages support Ubuntu OS.
We're used to handling large deployments for customers with a single purpose in mind such as this.
We're interested in discussing more, including your budget per VM so if you can, please message us on here with the sort of VPS specifications you're looking for and the budget you have in mind per VM, or email [email protected] and we'll get something sorted for you
Hello everyone, im also part of the project Michael is talking about.
Our current specs are:
2 vCPU
2 GB RAM
40 GB Disk space
Location: Europe and USA (or just Europe if USA its not available)
We are looking for something equal or better
Our budget is maximum 10€/$ but its preferred if the price is around 5/6 €/$ (per month)
@Hosterlabs i dont think we can say we are a non-profit since we are sellin kits so we can get some money to pay for servers and maybe us
@chocolateshirt said here
@Francisco yes
@alwyzon That panel looks awesome and may be what we are looking for
@WebProject i would prefer to move away from panels like cPanel and Plesk
@hostworld Specs on this comment
Please contact me or Michael
We'd work great then. $7/month with DA included.
Francisco
I'll have to wait for michael to wake up so we can talk about which provider to use
Hey Bud,
Join the Nexus Bytes Family https://nexusbytes.com/ .
Our VPS-2G should fit your need perfectly and includes Directadmin Personal license for no additional cost
We do not provide bundled panels with our virtual servers, but as mentioned, HestiaCP is free and open source and can be installed on any Ubuntu VPS. It's pretty much just downloading their installer and launching it over the servers command line interface.
For your European server you may give our KVM Server M package a try:
KVM Server M: 4,10 € per month (quarterly billing) for…
✓ 4 GB DDR4 ECC Memory
✓ 2 vCore Intel® Xeon® Processor
✓ 40 GB SSD Storage (RAID 10)
✓ 1.000 Mb/s Up- and Downlink
✓ Powered by KVM & Proxmox
✓ 1x IPv4 + /64 IPv6 included
✓ 5 TB Monthly Unthrottled Bandwidth

@alexis Yes, upgrades are always possible, fully automated and can be done directly over our customer panel.
