Just to note that it's an old i7. The Nehalem range, not even Sandy Bridge. The i5 that is Sandy Bridge may/may not be better depending on your needs.
hmmmmm the best i5 the would be
http://cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i5-2300+@+2.80GHz&id=788
and i7
http://cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7+975+@+3.33GHz&id=841
So i7 would be better but for 10Euros more? No
Not really interested... mSP is a better deal.
The i5-2400 and i5-2500 exists fyi.
I think this is an attempt to clear their W3520 stock. They have a lot of old W3520 servers.
It's the I7-920 not 975

@Maller learn reading "the best"
I did, but why compare it to something you ain't getting ?
16G is the I5 2300 and 24G is the I7 920. And out of those two, the I5 is the better CPU, according to the benchmarks.
No softraid and just 1 IPv4 - OVH is not going to sell a lot of these, especially when looking at the mSP which includes faster bandwidth and a hardware SLA.
i7 975 is the maximum what you could get, for example look in to wikipedia.
The price difference between KS16G and KS24G is not justified, the KS24G should have had 2 HDDs, or one HDD but of 3 or 4 TB.
@rm_ as said mSP is the better deal
My point is KS16G is also a better deal.
If it's like it was in 2011 when they originally offered the i7 24G you stand a 50/50 chance of getting a W3520 instead of the i7-920.
I'll guarantee most people get a W3520 as they clear the 2012 super plan servers.
Still "Available only for residents of the European Union."
