Not sure what LF means but MailerLite is a good alternative that has a good sized free version.
It means less f*ckable, tks.
yes this
and sometimes it means Looking For
@armandorg would you be willing to use a self-hosted solution? If so, you could try Sendy ($59 one time payment) or Mautic.
Sometimes...
I thought the whole idea of mailchimp/ses/whatever was that they handle all the deliverability hassles which is why the request for a free alternative (which would get abused to death by spammers) sounded absurd. This is an area where it's not purely SaaS. There is a lot of intervention involved. There are some very affordable email providers here on LET but none are free.
I've had a decent experience with Sendgrid and they offer a free plan for starters.
MailerLite is basically the same as GetResponse, MailChimp, etc... It's a hosted solution that gets you decent inbox rates. If you spam they shut you down fast.
With SES, SendGrid and other SMTP services you have to use something else like Sendy mentioned above to send the emails. A lot of the SMTP providers have a good free allowance level, but there's more work involved to send. They are more forgiving on the spam but will shut you down if you go overboard.
