Debian 10 "Buster" stable appears today
Although it was anticipated in an earlier thread started by @willie, I thought that the appearance of Debian 10 "Buster" stable after more than two years of development deserves a thread of its own!
It may take a day or two for the mirrors to update, so don't rush to perform an apt dist-upgrade
just yet!
With Linux kernel 4.19, support for UEFI Secure Boot, AppArmor enabled by default, and Wayland for Gnome 3 by default, Debian 10 is a much anticipated release.
Buster, by the way, is a pet dachshund in Toy Story: https://pixar.fandom.com/wiki/Buster :-)
Debian thx

Better than disco dingo
debian.org still says 9.9 ?
Debian thx
It's still early in the day in the US.
You need debian selektor.
Sadly not available on my VPS. Should have asked. That's probably gonna be the main question now that buster is "stable": debian selektor, OK?
thx Debian
Do you even round up?
No rounding up!
The next minor version of Debian 9 is 9.10 (but you knew this already ).
more exciting about proxmox 6 ...
Your users are more excited about OpenVZ 7.
yes i know , we are just implement solus in 10gbps product line , and we work this weekend to implement in more plans .. so no worry we are near to this.
It's in beta at the moment; hopefully, it won't take much longer for a stable version to appear.
For those who want to follow the Buster release as it happens: https://micronews.debian.org/
It's nearly there!
Load of 19, not bad, not terrible.
But that's as high as the meter goes.
For fucks sakes JACK, we do not have the key for the GOOD one.
Don't worry. It's impossible for the server to explode.
You never heard of the china power supplies?
No name, china explosive devices.
You can find them on ebay, then repeat your sentence again.
Just don't press the emergency shutdown button and you'll be fine.
Thats Russian nuclear power supplies
Debian Burst Toaster Edition for IoT OK
I am really excited to give it a try! Anxious... 😁
Don't expect anything groundbreaking. SystemD still has bugs.
The goal of Debian Stable is to actively avoid anything groundbreaking, production breaking and mind breaking.
Any useful software has bugs due to inevitable complexity and human predisposition to err when building complex solutions. It still works. And it's Debian release news, not SystemD's, I believe.
The guys are celebrating 10th release 🎉 and you are being all grumpy.
Thankfully it is still possible to avoid using it and stay with 'sysvinit'.
That seems to be the main purpose of SystemD - to introduce (some rather nasty if I may add) bugs in otherwise stable operating systems.
I work very hard to keep it away from as many of my systems as possible. Alas, I've not yet been able to completely disinfect my Proxmox systems so far.
Release images are ready for testing:

LETS GO BUSTING.
