Nope, it is just a promo @AlexanderM
Regarding stock and orders processing:
my guess now is that they had portions of stock allocated to different regional sites.
if you look at http://www.ovh.de/dedicated_server/isgenug.xml
or http://www.ovh.ie/dedicated_servers/kimsufi.xml
these still say 24 hours setup.
But on the main French site, http://www.kimsufi.com/fr/index.xml
it's 29/07/2013.
So if indeed the current stock was partitioned in a fixed manner, the French site as the most popular one obviously ran out of its portion first. And it is now unlikely that any of the FR-ordering people will get their servers till Monday (when they will put together more servers at the DC)
probably will revert back to regular kimsufi pricing...
I ordered from Spain, is the same datacenter? UK datacenter kicked me up, they said that .uk is exlusively for UK
@tr1cky they should be more than happy to get orders! I ordered 2x4€, 1 i5, 1x13€.. and still waiting!
So is the server located in Canada or France?
There is no indication whatsoever that the current pricing is only temporarily.
Thanks @peppr
@netomx I tried to order from .ie was redirected to .fi.
Well, I still have 30 days on one atom server and 23 days on a i3 server from them, but I still needed to order when I saw these prices, I will move some sites and services over once they get me the servers.
@findlandvps oh
Anyone knows if they accept PayPal?
@redjersey at least in the UK page they do, but with a fee.
They do
yes
You sure? I don't think I paid a fee on kimsufi.it - also it's against the PayPal TOS IIRC
Kindly check the first page of this thread, there's even a map there.
They accept Paypal without any fees on the French site.
If paid by paypal, they just authorise the payment, and it is on a 1.5hr wait before the money is charged and then you get the server. Card payment is instant and hence shorter time from pay->play.
Shitty price differences
@peppr ... first 1.5 hours before money is charged and then another wait for the setup of the server.. unless you got it faster than under 4 hours?
Yup, I saw that..

EDIT:
I wonder how they can afford to offer Kimsufi 16G for 24€/month.. I built a similar system i5/16GB/2x1TB HDD for 750 euros a few months ago.. So they only get 288€/year from these... that's a pretty long investment until they get the hardware+electricity+network costs paid..
If anyone is interested in a IPv6 test file:
And phpsysinfo if anyone is curious, I got their default Debian 7 install:
OVH is big company and I think that your company (if it is real) is very small. They buy many server same time, so price per is lower than if you buy only one server.
Well, you can get a low-energy i5 setup with 16gb ram and 2x 1tb hdd for ~ 500€: https://www.mindfactory.de/shopping_cart.php/basket_action/load_basket_extern/id/3d737d220a0cd636b36e873f5113e55306c926430debfe3b6a7
Just add a chasis.
tr1cky - +50€ for chassis.. +35 eur for shipping.. that MB doesn't have 2 x 1 GBs or WLAN... I had to pay 130 euros just for the MB to get dual LAN + WLAN.. Does that price include VAT? So it's probably +20%...
UK Site worked out cheaper (7.50GBP vs 11.50EUR)
@finlandvps: VAT is included at Mindfactory (but it's usually normal that we've the prices including VAT 19%)
@AlexanderM: Not 11,97 Euro?
Yeah, it all depends if you want reliable hardware, but I don't think ovh has mainboards with a backup lan and their power suplys seem to be low end aswell, I suffered 3 power suply failures in a year at them, allthough they replaced them incredibly fast, so I can't complain.
