BUYVM.NET - Luxembourg Slices are back in stock!
just received this email
This email is to inform you that we have recently deployed an additional rack of KVM Slices in Luxembourg!
We are aware that many of you have been waiting for inventory in Luxembourg to complete your Anycast deployments, upgrading an active service, or to simply get an additional service.
If you wish to upgrade your current Luxembourg Slice to a bigger plan, please log in a ticket with billing requesting the desired new plan and we will get you situated.
We thank you for your patronage over the years!
Respectfully,
Frantech Staff

Woop woop, just ordered a slice in LU. Thanks Franny @Francisco
Thanks for the posting
Francisco
Got a 50G Reseller in Luxembourg though wanted the 125G one
@Francisco, Y STOCK GET OVER SOON!
We got new shared nodes we're migrating everyone to
Way more CPU and NVME based storage.
Francisco
So, my account will be created on the new node? or the old one?
@Francisco can you manage hdd instead of ssd in lux or add blockstorage in lux? as the current blockstorage isnt compatible with lux vms
No, but we're working towards block storage.
If it isn't on the new node it will be in the end.
No ones being left behind.
Francisco
was pondering, figured might as well see what the new node feels like
just installed Debian Buster from ISO
such a nice change of pace to use a control panel where everything just works.
so now I'm looking for a word ... what's the opposite of janky ?
Stallion.
Stallion is the opposite of janky.
feels good man
@Francisco would love to show you his stallion.
His stallion is very premium.
I don't understand why would anyone use this picture instead of Franned.
Didn't want to use it, as this seemed more fitting.
Just in case tho
goddammit, just got Franned again!
Glad that this is being discussed, but doesn't everyone just use the Buyshared/BuyVM notifier that someone set up?
And is it really necessary to include the towel photo?
Any eta ? 1month/year/?
Yes, it is a LET tradition.
DM him for photos without towel if that towel obstructed your pleasure path so much
Lux slabs thanks
Wow those speeds look much better then the one I got a few weeks ago.
While this thread is hot, could not resist asking (not for more photos):
@Francisco
Could you please clarify, what do you mean by "more CPU"?
Is it newer/faster CPUs that will allow you to add more clients to the LU nodes and offer more stock, or BuyShared clients' CPU limit will be increased?
Asking since I'm a long-time BuyShared client in Luxembourg and additional CPU resources is exactly what I wouldn't mind getting, as modern versions of WordPress (pre-Gutenberg ones though) are quite slow with the current limitations.
IMO, actually the CPU is the only limit one can bump up against, despite the extremely affordable BuyShared pricing.
New switches went in I got an MX204 going in very soon and will be bringing more bandwidth up.
We're moving to make them feature parity with Vegas.
Moved from the L5629's to E5 2660's, which means an additional 8 threads, but at a much higher clock (around 600Mhz per thread of additional). Storage has been moved from SSD's to NVME.
lu-shared04 is migrating as we speak. Reseller nodes have already been completed.
Francisco
Just grabbed a lux slice, held for manual review.
@Francisco
Thanks, good to know, that's exactly where my Lux BuyShared account is
If I remember correctly, it was using Xeon L5638's though, but that isn't so important.
What I actually wanted to know is I believe that CPU limit was set to 500 MHz (in CloudLinux probably), which impaired the digestion of a relatively modern WordPress.
And I believe it's less than on LU-shared01, where I was initially after signing up long time ago.
Will that change anyhow?
We applied caps to some people that were rimming 24/7, but those will likely be relaxed now that the new node is coming in.
Francisco
@Francisco
Hm, that definitely doesn't sound like me, as I have only one WordPress-based site there (other ones are pure HTML).
And that site gets two-three dozens of visitors a day at very best.
Let alone I never received any warning emails about my site(-s) being abusive or getting capped.
Too many problems in lu-shared04. Server load always >(24cpu)...even a clean Wordpress site shows 65-80% CPU load...so haven't used it for 2 months now...last year I was in Vegas and it was good...but this LU is
Just seconding @roast's question:
Will it be soon(tm)?
Did you ever ticket in?
