Alienlayer - This does not look good!
While opening the sites
http://www.alienlayer.com/
http://www.alienvps.com/
getting this error consistently
Resource Limit Is Reached
The website is temporarily unable to service your request as it exceeded resource limit. Please try again later.
My vps have been running fine, so that's a positive.

They use HostGator to keep their site available in case of emergencies or whatever, they say.
The web pages load normal for me.... But the business, seems sketchy too me, after I learned the whole thing and story behind there new head of staff (HOS); James who used to be employed with FranTech/BuyVM.
But, I do hear some good and negative things about them.. Was there ever any update following the issue you had loading the webpage? What's the overall performance like on your VM @Abhishek? I heard they oversell their nodes and network way too much, that right there even though they are a budget provider, scares me. I never had to do that to turn a profit, and I still don't with my business.
-Tiggs.
It's working for me now too. Hey @Tiggs, what can you tell us about the James guy? I didn't like their service or support but the Russell guy gave me a full refund of $45 once which was cool of him, so that says something.
Probably an unusual traffic spike or HostGator issues
I had a VPS with Alien and they were great, I sold the VPS later here because I didn't need it anymore
I'm getting an "Error establishing a database connection" error at http://www.alienvps.com/ and an empty response at http://www.alienlayer.com/
They fault a long time?
Same here, my VPS is up and responding though.
11:59:24 up 33 days, 1:16, 1 user,
same here, both of site wont loading.
alienvps -> Error establishing a database connection
that's really interesting, provider cant their site up, how they can keep their client server?
alienvps.com is down for me too.
My VPS with them is still up though.
My vps at node ny13 is down since yesterday.
update. It's back after approx 24hrs od downtime.
My VPS is online too and my.alienlayer.com is working fine.
alienvps.com is online for me and so is my vps, up for 39 days.
Maybe keep the BuyVM fanboy stuff in BuyVM fanboy threads. Just saying.
The only mention of us in this thread was indicating that someone was former employee. If you don't want our name in this thread, then don't mention us.
Protip: Troll harder. Like Heinz said, you're up against pros.
Yes yes, someone who worked somewhere now works somewhere else.
@charliecron - Never owned a BuyVM vps so possible to be a fanboy. I actually own two of Alienlayer VPS. So I could be on path of becoming an AlienFAN!
@Tiggs - vps has been up and running for 35 days now (reboot before that was from my side).
Cannot give much information about VM performance since I am just running mumble server, some screen sessions and ssh tunnels on it and that works just fine.
I do see Load Average spike from time to time, but that does not affect my application.
Can't really recommend these guys. My uptime graph, none of these reboots were me. Never a explanation for downtime.

Their VPS's are pretty good performance wise, it just seems like they have a difficult time keeping anything working for over 12 hours..
I must co-sign with this... AlienVPS always rebooted my VPS for no reason, and was down randomly every so often.
I have 2 AlienVPS servers (Las Vegas and New York) and both are prone to spontaneously reboot every few days.
I don't like it, but I can't cry too loudly. The $15/year cost is a tinker-toy price for a tinker-toy server.
AlienVPS's Business Plan: Restart clients' servers twice a day, put no refund policy, end up with empty unused VPS's, oversell like crazy while maintaining good performance
hmm?
~$ uptime
18:01:25 up 40 days, 6:49, 1 user, load average: 1.01, 0.34, 0.12
Sorry bout yer luck...
@charliecron, what node are you on?
A RHEL5 one surely. I got 90+ days in one of my alienlayer boxes
My Las Vegas VPS has currently been up for 7 days since the last "alien automated" reboot
Asura, I'm on ny12.
server1 ~ 17:52:41 up 34 days, 12:21, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
server2 ~ 07:23:35 up 39 days, 20:59, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
The reboots a month ago were done by me, not alienlayer. So uptime is not bad.
I had a screen'd irssi running for almost a month on one of the servers.
So after the new year's fiasco I have nothing to complain about.
We were on the exact same node... I had the WARP 1 package from (12/27/2011 - 01/26/2012)
The node was down on 01/01/2012... this is what they told me on 01/02/2012, after being down for 1 day.
Noticed network issues for a time that have since gone away ... I highly recommend alien as the costs are low and images solid.
