VPS for torrenting and vpn
Hulkmaster
Member
I'm looking for VPS for torrenting (personal use) and vpn
My budget is ~10euro
and, of course, i'll need plenty of space (300gb+ HDD)
And it would be great if no logs are present
And it would be twice as great if it will be someone in offshore zone
Does anyone know something like it?
Comments
Heard VMHaus could be a good fit.
first of all they are in UK or US - both are not torrent friendly
secondly they have SSDs (according to pricing)
so i guess they are not my choice
https://mzunguhosting.ml/
Or
Contabo
@cociu HostSolutions
Contabo 4€ VPS + inexpensive proxy/VPN for torrenting.

If you can up you're budget by 3 euros you can get 1020 gb space hdd hyper-v vps with good performance for torrent and privacy for vpn in Russia Moscow with https://ruvds.com/en-eur.
Romania isn't offshore and is an European country even if laws are more lazily enforced.
Whether or not Romania is offshore depends on where the OP currently resides.
I think you do not know about agreements between different structures from different countries related to different cooperation related to a money.
Pretty sure op won't be lookin for an offshore country if he is from an offshore country lol
you're right
Read again. What is offshore to him might not be offshore to you and vice versa. You never live in a country that is offshore to yourself.
I sure do. Doesn't really relate to my answer though.
Colocation- and bandwidth-specific questions
Where is the data center of Contabo located and how is it equipped?
Contabo operates two own data centers providing all kinds of hosting and colocation services. Our ultra-modern "Green Data Center" in Munich was planned and built in 2009 specially by Contabo. It is able to accommodate 4.000 server systems. Our second data center, located in Nuremberg, was taken into operation in 2014 and has space for further 10.000 server systems
i guess they are in German jurisdiction - means if they'll receive any legal notice - they'll have to reply that
Same goes for Russia
Try hostsolutions.ro.
For what OP needs, Romania would fit fine.
I can think of at least two Romanian/Moldovan ISPs that ignore any copyright complaints, DMCA or other.
I never truly understand the term offshore hosting. Off what shore?
Offshore hosting basically means hosting in a country that has different copyright-related laws than your own. So Europe would be offshore to Americans, and vice versa.
The term is often abused and marketed as a safe heaven for any copyright infringed material, which is simply bullshit. There is no such thing as a safe heaven for hosting copyright infringed material. That said, as long as you're not distributing CP or anything similar, nobody is going to bother tracing you down. So any datacenter that doesn't care about torrenting will do just fine.
A bonus would be if the datacenter is offshore to you (i.e. European server for Americans). Not so much because that'd make you untraceable, but more because cross-jurisdiction cooperation usually takes too much effort to be worth the hassle of fining you (Germany and France have quite strict laws regarding torrenting where local legal firms can fine you quite easily if they have your IP).
I remember raiding an Romanian host with the local police a shitty datacenter who hosted nazi content and a big torrenting site oh well. As I said as it's an European union country laws does still apply even if lazier. > @solaire said:
And how does is offshore to Americans when Europe is an ally of America and has verry similar laws in most regards?
Your argument really doesn't have anything to do with the definition of offshore hosting itself.
Anyway, Europe is by no means an ally of America. Let alone they have similar laws, because really, they don't. Also kindly referring back to the cross-jurisdiction I mentioned.
Thanks for the explanations!
As I stated before, Romania would fit fine. It's personal use and the police aren't going to raid a data center because of that. He's not running TPB, or a nazi website. The only complaints he will get are from IP-Echelon's automated emails, which is formatted for the DMCA. Not Romania's.
Well if you are searching for a Offshore Hosting to publish articles about Leaks, Opinions, reviews. You need a Offshore Hosting that allow Freedom of Speech.
In such case, the only I can recommend at this moment is Flokinet.is, these Hosting provider is great for that, prices can be a little expensive. But that's the price you will pay to protect and have privacy.
However, you should buy a domain from Njal.la to increase your data privacy.
Well, if you search some Hosting Offshore that ignore DMCA in 2018, I would recommend you go with AlexHost, 2x4.ru, vpsbg.eu
Avoid any US/UK Hosting.
AlexHost doesn't allow porn content. (I can't confirm that, I read that on others forums).
In the end i've decided to use offshore vpn (nordvpn) as far as i know it has good reputation
