Looking for an affordable VPS or Dedicated Server
I'm trying to look for a VPS/Dedicated Server that is affordable and that I can remote desktop connect to at any given time. Looking to pay on a monthly basis (as usual).
Specs I'm looking for:
- At least 1gbps speeds (or near 1gbps).
- Chicago Server preferably
- 4-8 Cpu Core Server
- Ram/Memory don't really matter.
- Mostly need Cpu Core, but would like a runnable amount.
- Windows on it.
Looking for options at the moment. Mostly looking for anything that I can remote desktop connect to a Windows Server and can run windows based applications on it at a fast speed (1gbps). Budget: $70/month

Define "affordable" first.
Budget is $70/month. I've fixed my post.
You need to go to Highendtalk.com.
Hold on, a big wave of providers is incoming.
I'm trying to make a surfing/slice joke about this but pulling a blank.
Oh well, $60/month will get you 4 x 3.5Ghz CPU's and 16GB RAM. Windows 2008/2012/2016 are included in the price.

And a personal letter of "thank you, sir (sucker)".
Idk if you're trolling or not... Just would like some correct direction if I did something wrong...
Ram and storage can be low. Just looking for something with 4-8 CPU core and with 1gbps network speed and higher.
We don't do anything custom in that regard.

Why not get a dedi? You can get a great dedi at that price... why VPS? I use dacentec for my high end dedi (I know, keep the snickers down to the cricket level) and have a deal for $275/yr for hell of lot more than what you are asking for.
Wow that's a great price. Willing to get a dedicated server as well, as I only need it to run windows based applications when I remote desktop to the server. So either a VPS or Dedi would work for me.

Alright, I'll be taking a look
I think you'd probably be about 25-30ms away from OVH BHS; if that latency is acceptable you could get quite a nice dedi within your budget. E.g., BV-32 is an E3 v4 with 32GB and 2x2TB disks, for $72/mo. It's probably overkill for your needs. If you're ok with 250Mbps, you can go cheaper with SoYouStart.
You can also use the 39-knife Q9300 in the QN room.
What? 39-knife?
