SolusVM WHMCS Module from ModulesGarden
So I JUST got access to this from ModulesGarden. Still somewhat incomplete, and I don't have access (yet) to the Reseller or the Cloud Module portion of this (that should be later in the week hopefully), but here's what we have so far.
You can manage everything VPS wise that you can in SolusVM via this module. Only downside is it didn't include PowerDNS, but a separate module for that fixes that right up.
These guys really thought it all out so far. It even includes appropriate support for KVM/Xen with ISO Mount/Unmount and boot priorities -- Unfortunately I don't have a KVM node to test this with yet, but the functionality appears to be there.
My understanding of the "Cloud" module is that it should function similarly to that of Hostbill's "CLOUD" function -- IE you can make multiple VPS as long as you remain within your limits of the package amounts (ram, bandwidth, ip, disk), scale, re-size, upgrade/downgrade, etc with ease.
This is still in beta, but if any client wishes to get access to this for their service, they can open a ticket and we can put your VPS on the panel. We'd also like to find a tester or two to play with it on the client side of things and report back any bugs they may find so we can relay this to the ModulesGarden dev team.
Without further ado, here's the screenshots!

If you need DNS support you can use their DNS Manager for WHMCS and Rage4 DNS
Yea it is cool stuff, I have it as well
Yeah I was looking at doing that anyways. Rage4 looks really good.
I am a little confused, what does this do specifically that the standard SolusVM module does not?
Main thing being able to Reinstall from WHMCS and so client's don't have to have multiple logins
Then their reseller and cloud versions are what really add new stuff
Seems a little overkill to prevent 1 login every now and then, the 'cloud' feature sounds essentially like a reseller option which already exists in solusvm/whmcs too so I really dont get why this was worth doing?
Not knocking the effort, just questioning the requirement.
@AnthonySmith
In a quote from them:
Reseller - will be a module to offer Reseller option of SolusVM to your customers
I feel it is just more integration. The less your customers need to know and the easier you make it for them to do what they want to do , the happier they will be.
Give them 2 or 3 logins to use one product and its features and they can forget or get frustrated.
Have just one login for billing and everything else they can do it all from one location. While it may not be a huge deal in itself, from what I am noticed it is the small things like this that upset clients the most.
Hmm fair point, I cant argue with that logic.
The only advantage GoDaddy really has is everything is done from one control panel. Is it an ugly mess you need a roadmap to navigate? But it's still only one login which is great.
I'd say the biggest thing is integration, the "cloud" module is really just further integration from the reseller bit. They are also going to roll the SolusVM module out with the advanced billing module you can already get for other services, so you can do billing by the hour for VPS there as well if you wanted to.
I like the idea of easier scalability. Will be easier on the clients to scale up or down that way as necessary.
Brief update to this, more shots of it fully integrated into our existing theme:

Unfortunately Console still doesn't work as I have my Solus install on a non standard port, and ModulesGarden hasn't provided an option to specify ports or specific forced URLs instead of the IP yet (but I am told it is coming soon).
Any idea when this will be available? I have KVM and OpenVZ if you need someone to test both. Can this go onto the client area home page? Meaning the first page the client sees after they log into WHMCS?
I am also a ModulesGarden customer and they said that it will be available next week.
They said that to me... last week
Hopefully Soon
@SharedHost - yeah, that kind of sucks On the other hand maybe it's not ready yet and I'd rather they don't skimp on testing it properly.
I believe they want to release all three modules at once.
The solusvm extended, reseller and cloud versions which makes it take a little longer.
Not to mention there's a lot of issues with it still. Reboot/Shutdown hasn't worked for me for a while now, VNC doesn't exist for KVM, etc. It's coming along, just slowly.
Well Solus just broadcast emailed everyone that they should disable their whmcs modules because of more security holes found. I sure hope they come out with a fix soon. Like within hours because I can't run with solus whmcs module disabled. This is crazy.
It's fixed. Latest patch. Update.
I predict that as soon as one of the other control panels in development is finished, people will be switching to it like crazy. BlueCP is coming along nicely, so I hear.
Do you seriously think switching is going to solve anything? Some of the best most well funded software projects out there are still going to have security exploits. Solus is just as secure as anything else out there imho. The fact it's so widely used makes it more of target is all. These attacks only help make the software better and more secure so it's a good thing....as long as your not unlucky enough to be one of the ones hit by it.
I confirm the information that modules will be released in the first week of July. We will release all three modules at once along with prepared documentation.
We are making the final changes and tests of the modules with focus on security issues.
What is KVM compatibility looking like?
They should hopefully have something out beta wise soon on that, I was bugging them quite a lot on that.
@SkylarM Yes they will
that "Show root password" button to be already tells me to stay away from this. Storing root passwords in pure text is a security issue every developer should be aware of.
You can disable that option, but WHMCS does still store root password on initial creation no matter what you do -- the Solus made module does this as well as custom client fields that admins can see.
Not sure how info is being stored but I wouldn't want things like passwords stored in the db in plain text. If I can view it in plain text that would be ok as long as it's not being stored that way. I know WHMCS has a built in 'decryptpassword' command where you can get the passwords retrieved from the DB in plain text.
The solus passwords from the custom client fields are not stored in plain text.
