OVH "DO" dedicated server launch (Bestest Value)
Saw this pop up today, but haven't found any info about it from OVH on Twitter or on LET for example.

Besides location restrictions, it seems strictly better than the BV-32. Higher-end CPU and more guaranteed bandwidth (500mbps). This is the real BV-32, right?

They are the leftover discovery servers
Incorrect price for optional 2x450GB SSD NVMe
@jazz1611 what do you mean by incorrect?
Extra $1
still very nice , ordered one with SSD uk , wait time is 24 hour.
i guess they are really in need of some money
Got one to see how they do in Germany. Is this for the first term as always, or a recurring discount?
I think it is recurring
These look like good price vrack is also 1GB as well. Just wish the SSD version was 120 seconds too. I doubt an order would be activated till wednesday.
Looking at the cpu it is a good few years old.
My NVMe was activated instantly
Yeah UK is 24hr.
Were you able to see how used the drives were?
not checked anything yet but partly the routing and it is suprisingly okay within DE for the cost.
Seems rubbish outside of DE tho.
Right, missed that one. Thanks.
We currently have an sp32 server so not sure if it’s worth the change. I just wish they did more hardware raid 1 hot swap drives.
where i can get speedtest in london?
No nvme on uk . Intel 480gb ssds
Brand new in my case
Thanks for the details I may order 2 if they come with new drives.
Ordered one in the UK. Thanks.
Did they process yours over the weekend??
yes , got it like on Sat Morning , 12 hours after order.
Mine were activated around 2 hours each. I ordered at 11pm and it was acibe by 1am ish. Can’t fault it. Drives look new as warranty till 2022 / 2023. Great service.
Looks like they've removed the SSD option price increase
How is OVH routing in the UK?
To where? Might be useful. Edit - Keep in mind their UK location is only 6ms (I think) from their nearest France location, so regardless routing issues would only add a few ms if you're worried about the issues like APAC locations a while back.
Could someone please post a few benchmarks? Nench.sh, bench.sh or serverbench.sh (link in signature)
Thanks.
So the ones in DE come with 16 IPs free of cost I assume?
Is it any test IP for London or Germany? Can't remember where I saw it...
smokeping.ovh.net
I don't think so. The spec sheet says these can have up to 16 IPs, with a one-time fee of $3 per IP.
Moving here from Hetzner... Is it a good idea?
Depends... it's a bit more expensive than Hetzner just in terms of cost per TB storage. If you're using Hetzner for something like a seedbox, then you're likely going to get much better peering at either of these locations, but whether or not better peering is worth it to you is your own choice.
