MXRoute Alternative (to use as backup)
I've been using MXRoute for a few dozen domains for one or two years now I think. I'm fully satisfied with them, and don't plan on moving. However, I am planning on purchasing mail services from someone else to use as backup. Does MXRoute have any peers when it comes to price/service?

I know a few people here use https://www.mailcheap.co
Never used them myself but haven't seen any complaints
Edit:
They also have plans designed for this at some very attractive pricing!

If it's a backup, something to check for is whether they use the same upstream. It's preferable if they don't. I think mailcheap runs its own delivery side, but better check.
When you say as a backup, what do you mean? To be automatically on when mxroute does have any issues? To keep a backup of the mails to a secure location?
And how are you gonna keep your backups? MXroute is based on CPanel. Are you going to keep a cpanel account backup? Are you going to use rsync to synchronize the mails?
Or you just want to have a ready server to switch to when mxroute is inaccessible (but without having the old mails backed up there?
This.
