Free BuyVM Stock Notifier
Hello everyone
A couple of weeks ago I coded a website that I think might be useful to the community so I decided to post it here. I hope you're cool with that (I tried to send a support ticket... no reply)
The website is: https://buyvmstock.com
Since many years I am a very happy BuyVM customer, but I have always struggled to find the stock for the product I wanted (LU location seems to always have very limited stock). To solve this problem I wrote a BuyVM stock notifier to send me an email every time a new stock for the product I wanted was posted. It served me quite well and I decided to make a public version of it.
Basically, you can select the products you want to be notified for, add your email and the website will automatically notify you as soon as a new stock is posted. Of course, if you don't need a notification anymore you can un-subscribe with a click. Moreover, you can always have an overview of which products are available across all the locations (LA, NY, LU).
Let me know if you have any feedback about that. I was thinking about implementing a Twitter bot posting for every new stock. Would you be interested in it?
Just a small disclaimer: as specified in the about page ( https://buyvmstock.com/about ) I have talked with Francisco before settings this thing up and he is totally cool with this project. Links contain a referral link to help me with the cost of hosting/mailing-lists.
Let me know you opinion!
Cheers!

Is this 2011?
If you are referring to my non-existent web design skills... YES
I like this it's simple and effective good job, been waiting for buyvm storage stock in LU for awhile. How often does it check for stock?
Every 2m
Could you move the "Slice1024" for LV to its appropriate position?
Also, those kimsufi stock checkers have another column called "Last available on", so people can see if it's likely it'll become available soon. Might be cool to implement.
This is great! I'd love to have some VMs moved over to BuyVM, and are planning on taking some for an anycast network for a project but they're always out of stock :-(
Edit:
Just to add - you should add the VZ containers too. Sometimes VZ is a nice cheap VPS for smaller requirements
2nd Edit:
Just seen they're unavailable now. Well that'll teach me to check next time!
Make one for his web hosting too
affff link
I'd say he's more than transparent about it.

Yes. Yes there is. It is mentioned in the original post
Honestly, I dont see any harm in those affiliate links. Good job @agia
would be happy if @francisco would use this

Never knew that such a private club existed within LET. WHT disease is contagious indeed. Don't wish to derail the topic but just can't stop myself from asking. @AnthonySmith whats your thoughts on a need for this?
No, I think he means the last time someone wrote a "check BuyVM stock" app, it was 2011:
https://web.archive.org/web/20111126121153/http://doesbuyvmhavestock.com
Its been in place for literally years possibly day 1, I don't plan to change it, Its as dead as a door nail, generally we just share advice and updates on things that should/would not concern end users in a very informal way, so this is not turning WHT, its always been there for as long as i can remember.
If you have any specific beef with it feel free to PM me (genuinely).
On Topic: nice effort @OP great to see things like this pop up in the community, I suspect we are going to see BuyVM enter the major leagues within the next 1 - 3 years and see the big boys shit a brick, fran is highly skilled and innovative, the fact that the stock checker exists now in multiple forms for BuyVM is testament to that.
Not since day 1 but since October 2016 at least. I think we may have had something like that before as well and the Jarland just recycled the thread.
It's only a single thread. It's pretty boring. I don't think I've read it in ages.
In contrast to WHT, You don't need to pay money to get into the private provider club. Also, the tag that gets you in is simply "Provider" not a big gold dick-waving "CORPORATE MEMBER" (see what I did there with my dick joke?)
Yeah, that 1 thread was a consolidation effort iirc, it has always been possible to post in providers>private I think, well as long as I remember anyway, I could be wrong, but at the same time, its certainly not the first time it has been mentioned and its certainly not a secret.
We have one for 'Staff' too
We have one for 'Staff' too
Simply unacceptable.
We should probably disclose the full list of private threads:
This is one of those times where "Open" isn't necessarily the best policy.
I think the real question ... is the site hosted at BuyVM?
I can think of a reasoning for the 'Staff' one. You might want to discuss matters with your team which ought not to be posted in public. But this 'provider only' viewing is beyond me. A casual reader but a prospective provider who does not want to apply for a 'provider' tag on the forum (nor can he before he has established himself) might have interest in those threads if they carry some information useful enough to be tagged 'providers only'.
If you could see it you would understand and realize how pointless it is, it is just a relic, consisting of the odd "good morning" and father Fran giving us heads up about new attack vectors etc which obviously we don't want public.
So in simple terms, there is already a providers category for what you describe, anything that should not be public for good reason goes in to providers>private.
Err... Nope
Pretty sure BuyVM owns CC now, so yeah.
I saw a sneak peak of the new branding they're rolling out...
