Use aff code '6X0WB6' after sign up or use the aff link to sign up to get $10 credit.
Is everyone going mad?
Most certainly not.
"Going" implies that we're not already mad.
I'm the only one not mining. Someone teach me :P
First, you have to get in the proper mindset: Drink a bottle of bleach.
I'll toss the haters a dollar when I strike it rich in the coin mines.
Lets just say the haters are the miners who don't like anyone near their pot'o gold they might have been richer than you already by then.
I am also looking for an affordable GPU instance, not used for mining. Will need it to be compatible with cuDNN7(Caffe), other specs are not as important, budget is ~100 USD/mo including setup fee if any. Any insights? Except hetzner and paperspace.
If not for nonstop use, there are hourly instances available on OVH Public Cloud. Otherwise, if you just want something low-spec (GTX1050 etc) for several months, you're better off using your own hardware. The low end stuff is relatively cheap.
I suggest going with NameCheap and 1&1. From here you can buy VPS hosting.
AWS & Google Cloud GPU instances are really only "worth it" (if that, even) when you're not running them 24/7, or can use spot instances.
I'd go for getting your own hardware + colo.
BTW, yes, some people use GPU servers for mining, but there are a whole lotta other use cases perhaps even more useful:
