What does your LET username mean?
raindog308

in General
Some of course are pretty obvious.
- I'm pretty sure @KnownHostChrisM works at Known Host and his first name is Chris, @qps is Quick Packet, etc.
- @Francisco's first name is Francisco (or else he's been running a massive Paypal scam for years). I suspect @MikePT is Miguel in Portugal.
- gongyi in Cantonese means "streetwalker".
- @Amitz leads a group of religious mountain-climbers
- And of course we all know @jarland was born in paleolithic Laos
How about you?
Mine is not very interesting. I live in a very rainy place and at the time I had a dog (alternatively, a "raindog" is slang for a stranded dog, someone who sleeps in doorways, and a great Tom Waits album, little of which applies to me), and .308 is my favorite rifle caliber. Mostly, I needed a username and tried to find one that wasn't taken.

My name.
My name as well.
(nothing else to add. Just trying to be part of the conversation)
I'd assumed it was Mezrah backwards. Not that I have any idea what "mezrah" means but it sounds like a Middle Eastern delicacy.
uptime past a certain point just means probably haven't rebooted to apply updates for a while (unless using kernelcare or similar)
myhken = Myhre, Kenneth = Kenneth Myhre - Got this username on my first job in IT back in 1998, and have kept it after that.
Actually, QPS stands for QuickPacket Sales. I wanted just QP, but WHT wouldn't let me have a two letter username at that point in time.
I am playing with ZFS while I register an account here, that's where my name comes from
When first using IRC, say back in the dark ages, I was going to use daffy_duck. EFNet only supported nine characters, hence ‘daffy’ was born. Watched alot of cartoons, liked Loony Toons
the required wattage to get jiggy wit it.
I honestly have no idea.
muffin is prem tasting dessert
my initial name?
No mountain too high, no valley too deep, with god on my side, I've got all that I need!
Nice finding, but my nickname relates to a character in a book by the Israeli author "Ephraim Kishon", called "The Fox in the Chicken Coop". He is probably completely unknown in the Anglo-American world.
No idea.
There is no particular meaning to this nickname that I had been using for many years, it is also slowly being replaced. LET remains one of the places this is in use.
myname + 01
It was somewhat windy... I guess.
My name without a letter.
My name is Rick Bakker. It's origin is found back when I created my first Gmail account. My full name was already taken (my name is pretty common in NL), so I abandoned the E resulting in RickBakkr.
So "Mandingo" is what they call you everywhere else?
I just hit the head on the keyboard someday and got this cool name!
Reported for doxing.
So we suffer because WHT is lame. Typical.
I work on cars, motorcycles and computers. I am a tool
My username is actually a result of a mistake. It was supposed to be "deanok".
That's for me to know, and you to wonder..
If you open a ticket, we can change it.
‘Hot air’ in Japanese.
It's okay. Not a big deal.
I think I was high when I was thinking of a name for LET.
End of thread right here.
