How to protect a dedicated server from DDoS attack ?.
Comments
BlackLotus?
There is no magic solution to stop DDoS attacks, other than to stop being a target. If it's a small flood, DoS deflate can help. Other than that you'll need a provider which offers DDoS protection, e.g. BuyVM, SecureDragon, LiquidHost, XenVZ (I believe that was a limited offer) and probably more..
I have DDos protected vps from BuyVM.
But Here I'm talking about dedicated servers.
I'm getting 100's of portscan and floods on my box.
Let me check it out.
Let us know what you think of the pricing
Black Lotus / CNServers / SEFlow / Staminus
No idea but they moved customers out within ~24 hours so they must have had a previous provider they've been using in the long run (Info from the WHT thread)
Port scan is unavoidable.
Forget the portscans, but floods if they're directed at a webserver for example you can use a reverse proxy to a VPS. I didn't realize you mentioned dedicated server, but VPS's can still be of use. Others have mentioned DDoS protected dedicated server providers. ;-)
I'm permanently blocking them using csf.
Any guild available ?.
Suggested configuration for VPS ?.
