Buy Windows 7 License Key
My mom brought over her computer today and it is just a mess. Running windows vista full of virus fun stuff like that. I want to put windows 7 on it, but I need a license key. I can't seem to find any legit places online where I can buy just the key then ill download the ISO and install it that way. They all are 'packages' where they send you the CD too, which would take longer and I couldn't finish the computer today. So does anybody know where I can buy just the key?
Comments
eBay maybe?
eBay. You can ask them to email your key before they ship the CD.
Should not have said this, comment removed
Those are usually MSDNAA or other license keys which officially cannot be used by others. The sellers usually get them with a subscription. Not trying to discourage you, just an FYI.
I have a Dell case with a Windows 7 Pro on it, I was once a certified Dell tech and I can't tell you it would be any good without your mom's system being a Dell too, but you are welcomed to it.
Kinda concerning to me you would suggest software piracy
The key would activate on anything. Brand doesn't matter, just that you have the OEM version install media.
You could safely download from MS and install without a key, until you receive a key or figure out if she likes it first.
Little offtopic:
There are official downloads for Win 8?
Yep. You can also pay to have them send you a DVD.
Why not Windows 8?
Pity his Mum. She deserves to have a start menu.
Windows 8 has a start screen, really nice for older folks and kids. Teach them a few new nav skills and she'll be off buying her first Surface.
The last Windows 8 update disabled the Shutdown/Restart/Sleep menu on my Laptop and after finally shut it down, my laptop won't start

Can be fraud etc don't know them, never used them. Do research first, look for reviews...

Install it, run as a trial (00000000000000) or (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) and just enter the product key when you get it.
The ISO however, you can easially find an untouched one somewhere.
Hmm.. All caps and excessive symbols.. It looks like a legit review to me. If you check the contact page there's a gmail address listed with "pay4keys" as the handle. Whois protection on the domain.. I'd be weary of this site (that or it's run by a child).
Contact Us form is just a contact form.. No business information listed.. Whois protection on the domain.. Yea..
It takes two seconds to review these sites, so why bother even posting them?

Where ignorance is bliss, it is folly to be wise..
Windows 8 is available but not Windows 7.

And you can run Windows 7 in trial mode for 30 days while you wait for the DVD to arrive.

@Night Fix your quote. It doesn't mean that you won't get a key just because they're dodgy. It's a call that whoever started this thread has to make. They can be cheaper keys from Russia, etc. One has to check out reviews on other sites and look for more info.
My Lenovo Laptop has a windows 7 pro sticker and my other laptop has at least a vista. I bought both second hand but immediately wipe out the hard disk to install Linux (Ubuntu). Is it something that I could theoretically give away and it would work? Don't care about MS anyway.
It will be a OEM license, so it will work only with lenovo laptops, and also you will need valid SLIC in BIOS. However as anything on internet, all of this can be fixed...
I have an OEM Win 7 License on ASUS but wouldn't give it to anybody because I'm an as**ole. And I'm not using I either, 'cos I got cracked Win 8.
I was purchase my Win 7 OS by calling a Microsoft.
Call microsoft help center and ask them how or where you can purchase a Microsoft Windows7.
Note: I buy everything from ebay expect License/OS
Or you could save your own time and not waste someone else's by simply following one of the two links posted above to the Microsoft store (one being for Enterprise and one for Home Premium)...
