so u can setup ipv6 compatible services
website etc
SSL, IP per site, etc.
Show off. Or get an ipv6 t-shirt from http://ipv6.he.net and then show off.
Nothing if you need to ask. You will know if/when you will need it for some specific task.
I couldn't find any use for IPv6 except for the occasional server-server backup transfers
Exactly
I still think are almost useless...
@webflier it is useless.
Um... no?
Wtf?
Why?
@shaq Why what? name one site using ip6 that i can connect.
What's this got to do with you connecting? some people use the IPv6 for software and sites.
@Ishaq thanks.
Nothing!
I'm usually just using 1. That make 1 vps = 1 IPv4 and 1 IPv6. The use is same as the IPv4 as webserver or proxy.
@joepie91 so google.com can't run without ipv6?
Of course Google works fine without IPv6. Then again, that wasn't what you asked for.
@LAKid Are you somehow under the impression everyone is supposed to switch from IPv6 to IPv4 at the exact same time?
If you want an IPv6 only site go over to http://www.loopsofzen.co.uk/
You can use them for individual sites. Then put the IP behind cloudflare for free ipv4/6 gateway.
OMG!
Sounds wonderful
@tehdan http://www.loopsofzen.co.uk/ working?
LOL!
Of course...
But apparently you don't understand what's going on...
@yomero I guess not everyone will complain when thier ISP sticks them behind a CGNAT
Here at Mexico the cable and fiber ISPs do NAT =(
I setup a IPV6 Tunnel at home with a tunnel broker and it is amazing how much traffic goes out via the tunnel. Tons of websites are ipv6 ready.
Some American ISP's are heading to NAT now as well. I really hope we see more IPV6 so that we can one day finally be rid of ipv4
Disregard the fact that in a few years, everything will be using ipv6 as their main ip protocol.
If you don't understand why IPv6 is important:
http://www.google.com/intl/en/ipv6/index.html
And while it's true that only about 1.15% of internet users can access IPv6 sites right now, the adoption rate is increasing rapidly (though some countries, like the UK, are badly lagging behind).
http://www.google.com/intl/en/ipv6/statistics.html
Not that any of that addresses the OP's question -- I don't see much of a need for 10 IPv6 addresses on one VPS, either, but hey, I'm sure someone has a use for them.
Make it as an investment.
When a lot of people can access it, a web-design package with ipv6 can be a good package to offer.
Thanks for this link
It shows how at MX we have an absolute 0%...
ffs, even Cuba has ipv6
What a crappy country we have
