How dare you to ask, that is none of your business ;o
@24khost, Always bring a towel.
Always @serverian
Yepp, new servers with 12 and 24 are very nice but not cheap
minimum 8, more is always better.

I can tell you, @GetKVM_Ash won't answer your question...

None of your business as well.
why do you say that 3 times, mentally challenged or something?
+1 :P

Why are you bothering me, mentally out of balance definitely ?
Over 9000.
Stop overzelling.
@GetKVM_Ash if you are referring to us only having one plan but deploying 64GB nodes. That is because our KVM are e5 2620. When was was using e3s it was 32max.
Oversell either way, e3 cannot handle the load with 32gb in containers allocated, nor can a dual e5 with 128gb of containers.
I load my nodes to 85-90% of physical ram and e3's never over 22gb
Really, ours handle it just fine (Details listed in a post above), we must have idle customers :P
This whole thread hurts my brain, it is like you guys have a magic crystal ball that I do not that allows you to know exactly what sort of impact and what package every future customer will have before you even have them.
We all have our methods I suppose, mine is just to look at the node with plenty of information to hand from real world metrics and current resource impact and say .. yep that one is full for now.
I know XenFu
Is CPU really the limiting factor?
I always though I/O limits were reached before CPU...
Of course, all depends on what those VMs are doing.
Clearly you wouldn't want over 9K of my VMs on a single E3 node :P
It depends a lot :P
So can somebody explain to me how your making any real profit?
After paying employees
Colo costs
only doing 32 kvm's per e3
cost of the server
at $7.00 *32 = 224.00
Just not seeing the profit here. It doesn't add up to me. Can somebody explain it to me cause I must be dense. Just not seeing the profit.
^
@AnthonySmith is that you agreeing with me?
.
Yes... Yes he is.
I thought about doing kvm but I can't make it profitable.
This is LEB business, noone makes profit.
ummmm @serverian.... I make profit.
If you want to do KVMs, then do KVMs. Just make sure it fits within your business plan and also make sure it providers overhead and profit.
We all make a profit. This is a stupid assumption.
KSM... KSM rulz
@HalfEatenPie At this point I won't due it as It is not financially feasible. I am trying to have somebody advise me how they do LEB kvm and make profit.
The reason we stick with openvz only is due to this. I can make a profit. With out mass overselling my stuff. My nodes normally don't even break a sweat.
