Shared Hosting Request
Hey LET,
So, the time has come again. I'm on a Namecheap Professional plan, which costs $100 CAD/year before taxes. I've been with Namecheap for quite a few years now, but I feel like it's time to move. (For comparison, I'm paying ~$110/year for shared hosting, when I could have a decent VPS)
Anyway, I've considered using BuyVM and Pageclick.
My requirements are simple:
- 2 domains hosted or more
- 100 gigabytes of bandwidth/mo or more (just a note: I don't really use more than 10 gigabytes a month, but the legroom is nice)
- 20 gigabytes of space (SSD preferably)
- no tax
- 20 SQL databases or more
- Basic Email (I probably won't use this anyway, because most of my domains are using GSuite)
- Free migration (optional, but helpful)
Yes, I could get my own VPS and set this up, but I'm not in the mood to move 2 domains with a connection that dies every two hours. (Plus, I don't like moving large SQL DBs)
My budget would (ideally) be under what I'm paying right now. (I expect decent uptime!)
I'm really leaning towards BuyShared, but I remember something about cPanel not being able to share a dedicated IP with more than one domain.
With that said, I look forward to hearing some suggestions!
Sincerely,
dawgy
Edit: I also expect support to exist! (I don't want to be left in the dark during an outage, for example.)
Edit #2: I chose ImpactShared. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

i recommend @mikho because he will fix and help even on weekends.
What's wrong with just downgrading to their Value plan? Like half the price and still has 3
hosted domains.
Definitely buyshared. You can use multiple domains on the same dedicated IP without an issue. Don't know about their US locations but I'm very happy with LUX.
Any issues are well communicated and as long as you're friendly they'll treat you like a king.
Do you also need scheduled backups ?
That's incorrect.
You can have multiple sites on a single IP just fine. cPanel is fully SNI compatible too.
Francisco
CPanel might be hot garbage compared to ${anything_else}, but it's been able to share a single IP for at least a decade.
If you don't mind me asking: on which server you're in LU (I mean server number)?
Just trying to find out whether it's me, who's out of luck with LU4.
@Francisco @WSS Derp - wrong control panel. Sowwy!
@MikeA Simply put: I'm frustrated. The server will occasionally slow to a halt, and all their support does is tell me that they've forwarded the issue to a technician. Plus, the servers feel like they're heavily oversold.
PMed you
I believe it's on LU1? First node they setup there. I'll check and report back in a bit
Edit: it's lu-shared04. Probably was moved there a while ago as there were issues with LU1 in the past.
Could do our shared20 plan: https://impactshared.com/shared.html
I have a promo code for 40% off recurring if you are interested.
I'm able to take own backups, but having them is a plus ^
Sounds good! PM the promo code

Yes. Possibly.
