SolusVM - Migrations possible in the next release
Looks like SolusVM will finally have a live migration script included in the next release..

They're also changing to a 'live' search model too, like WHMCS:

Nice, been lurking their blog for a while now, great to see a new feature coming up :-)
Long time coming... such a simple implementation that took them ages to bring in.
I hope that it can issue a new IP(s) from the target node too as part of the migration, it would be terrible to put all that effort in to automating it only to leave a load of manual work behind.
I've been using OpenVZ live migrations for ages, what's the news here?
Granted not fro the GUI...
Exactly why I hate / not use SolusVM
Granted not fro the GUI...
KVM migrations is the main thing I think.
Yes, KVM live migration would be cool if it works right.
I've tested it a number of times from different nodes in the same DC and across different DC's and so far nothing has gone fubar.
I'll probably never get to say this again, so I'm taking the opportunity.
VirtPanel already had it :P
IPV6 searching? No more MySQL scripting for that?
Yep
Heaven forbid a migration fails!
Upgrades are always good!
@james1work hahah that is funny!
looks nice =D
Can always hit the Revert button to revert back...
@necs
100% yes
Yeah, it does
How about multiple IPv4 + IPv6 ?
@MartinD Awesome, Thanks.
And keep the same IP if the IP is in the same vlan/assigned to both nodes?
Not sure what you mean?
Yes
As in.
KVM123 has 1.2.3.4 as a primary IP and 1.2.3.5 - 1.2.3.8
Upon migration will it auto replace 1.2.3.4 with an IP from the destination node as well as the secondary IP(s)
And will it do the same for IPv6.
Further to that I would hope that when multiple nodes share an IP block some logic in place not to swap the IP.
Looks great
Sounds like @MartinD is confirming this is the case.
@necs - yes, it will if you want it to.
If no ip's are available it will still transfer and you will need to add/remove the ip's manually. If both nodes are in the same ipblocks then nothing will change.
@MartinD do you know if it's scriptable (calling a helper from cli or API) ?
@prometeus not as far as I know
KVM live migrations... Just need a stable release to be out and I can finally say byebye to LSN
Colocrossing.
@Alex_LiquidHost We could use more providers offering there :P
