WHMCS email fetching
Hello,
Ticket support is not working on my WHMCS install. I have edited the default department and added the following details for email:
hostname:pop.yandex.com
POP3 Port: 995
Email Address: [email protected]
password: my password.
I run the cronjob to fetch pop3 email accoint and it returns:
POP Import Log
Date: 25/03/2017 14:50:39
Host: pop.yandex.com
Email: [email protected]
Mailbox is empty
I have sent 3 emails from 3 different addresses to [email protected] but it's not working. All 3 emails are unread on inbox.
Log is empty on whmcs.
Can you help me troubleshoot?

Have you contacted WHMCS support ?
Yes, but they take too much time to reply. I thought of asking here because it's kind of urgent to fix and community members have experience with WHMCS.
Have you tried using other email companies?
Check the logs in whmcs it will tell you why its failing.
use non-encrypted method when importing via pop, default port should be 110
No. I use port 995 and all OK.
Have you enabled pop3 on your email host?
Some, line Gmail blocks it by default and you need to enable it.
Actually no. This is my business email.
But why use an unencrypted connection?
It's enabled AFAIK. But I will check again.
Because this is what worked for me
You are sending the email password in plain text and a simple sniff could b Hackyour account.
Are you running your whmcs on a vps?
Check if your php has IMAP support.
No I don't, i said that is what worked for me when I couldn't get it working, its a way to test and rule out things once we realised it was a problem with encryption we found another solution for e-mails
try get emails with email client. maybe this can help you.
is this google apps emails ?
No read his post its yandex
Maybe there is a problem with Yandex? Have you tried other POP clients? If it is important, maybe consider moving to Google for a month while WHMCS gets it fixed? It will only cost $5
Per email account. Gets expensive. Rackspace Email is a great alternative and much cheaper.
That is not a wise advice. Its pretty easy to fix this. Just check the logs, fix whatever is necessary. A host using unencrypted method and saying that you managed to find another solution... What was it? Using SSL as it should be? Plain text email that contain passwords is not a turnaround.
Like I said I meant it as try it via 110 just to make sure that pop is working as it should, it well eliminate at least one reason
@MikePT Also i would like to add that we DO NOT send any passwords via email, when you receive emails from us your passwords show as "Password used at sign up"
I agree 1000% - very unwise advise and it starts to form a pattern from Pio.
OP - let's start from the beginning. The first thing that should be checked - logs. What does the logs say ?
@clouvider how is ruling out an issue a bad choice? You make no sense
Logs give you the data you require to figure out the problem, recommending someone. To just switch the encryption off, which is a very bad security practice, is a flawed advice at best.
I didn't mean to turn it off completely just to rule that out, I found that logs didn't show anything when I had this issue with WHMCS, No in production sending emails unencrypted is just plain wrong of course, Like mentioned above in one of the comments i found in the end my problem was in fact PHP based
It does.
What did you find? Maybe I have the same problem.
@drdrake IMAP support was what I found and FYI yes I'm PIOHOST just made a account for my personal comments
FIXED. HAD TO SELECT "Mark all messages received using the POP3 server as read in the Yandex.Mail web interface." FROM SETTINGS ON YANDEX. THANKS GUYS.
Glad you got this fixed and sorry if my message was misunderstood, I don't explain myself in the best ways sometimes.
You did a great job. No I didn't misunderstand anything. I appreciate your help and everyone else's who tried to help me.
Dr what is the cost of using yandex mails for business purposes ? Thinking to get rid of Google apps .
Next time, just telnet to the pop server (port 110) if you wish.
