Top Provider Poll Q4 2016

Votes: BuyVM, OVH/Kimsufi, MXRoute
New: Nodion
HM: VortexNode, WisHosting, PumpCloud, On A Cloud, Host4Fun .... and I wish I had more vote to show appreciation to tragicservers & Inception Hosting.
Thanks for all the votes everyone, it has been one of the few occasions I have paid attention to this, what is sort of amusing from doing a very quick count is that OVH will probably win or at least be top 3.
Bit sad to see so many people vote for them given how HUGE they are, a host that has never bothered to have representation here or interact here at all and how little they give a crap about this place or any individual customer.
Is what it is I suppose.
I get your point, but the poll doesn't say they have to be small providers here. I'd guess most people vote on how the uptime/stability is on their server (same reason why people vote for a provider that sells a $12/y VPS that has good uptime?)
Your right, I get it, I use them myself , I suppose its a bit hypocritical of me really as I also voted for people not well represented here.
OVH just seems next level.
I am off to hang my head in shame now anyway.
I see IH has extremely succeeded in the poll this time, more than 30 votes for now. No small part of that is due to their new UK location (Clouvider) I guess. Way to go, @AnthonySmith and @Clouvider.
Thank you for the very kind words @bersy! This wouldn't be accomplished without the service Anthony provides and his attention to detail. Way to go @AnthonySmith!

For future polls, it might be a good idea to at least define a standard template format for votes so that it'd be easy for just about anyone to automate the tally process. If they were all in YAML (or even just a restricted block of Markdown) it'd be pretty easy for me to throw together a Ruby (or whatever) script to crank through the data.

Seeking Clarification : I assume that one is supposed to vote based on "data" from Q4/2016 - so I'm curious if a "Linode $5" vote is valid (I'm sure Linode is valid, but purely to vote for them on the basis of the $5 price reduction - which happened in Feb '17 - would be a "technical violation") - is my nitpicking justified? Any comments @trewq?
It's not based of data from Q4/2016, you just vote for your favourite providers.
Sure?
