VPS247?
Yeah, I hear their carrier options are Cogent, Cogent and Cogent.. with Cogent Ip's too!
Can this vps provide me an ip public Cogent Communications?
IP space is leased from Cogent, but announced to multiple upstreams from their own ASN.
38.95.108.2
I'm jessin' with ya. I know
Do you need an IP from cogents IP space or just a host that peers with cogent?
http://bgp.he.net/AS16276#_peers OVH directly peers with cogent on IPv4 and IPv6, so does Vultr http://bgp.he.net/AS20473#_peers
The only thing better than Cogent is more Cogent. For those of you who are not lucky enough to have Cogent, I do have a Cogentizer compatible with most ethernet adapters (10/half).
Vultr only uses Cogent for transit in certain locations.
AFAIK, they are London and Atlanta.
I know WSI is a mix of Cogent and HE. All the $20 an under servers are out of stock (just looked)
fdcservers(dot)net ?
afaik, singlehomed to cogent and use ip from cogent
Cogent can be a great supplement to a network that already has excellent Tier-1's in the mix and good peering. For example, we use Cogent to... Get better connection to Cogent Customers only. It's very handy especially with the number of peering disputes Cogent has , not judging right or wrong. I'm saying this from a point of view of a network that looks to provide excellent quality transit.
One may like them of dislike them, but they have a large Client base who is often singlehomed to them and if you want to reach those networks reliably, you simply need a link to Cogent. Resolving tickets with complaints from their Customers or Customers of their Customers costs more than the link.
Of course you do... "[email protected]"
