Unmetered Cloud

DeadCodeDeadCode Member
edited February 2017 in General

Hi! My site has become popular and we're using a single dedicated server to manage the load. Although, this is not the most optimal solution as we sometimes have more traffic on specific days. We're currently on 1Gbps unmetered with our host, and pay 375$ USD a month.

Does anyone have a cloud solution? We must be able to attach disks to the VMs so they can all share the assets (Min. 1TB, SSD preferred). It'd be a plus with load balancing, but we can do artificial balancing using DNS.

Cheers!

    MuchoHentai.com.

For those who are curious, we use 220-280 terabytes per month of data, and that's because our port is maxed out most of the time. We sometimes burst with our port trunking. We need raw bandwidth.

We were on OVH. Performance didn't cut it. Neither did the 500Mbps guaranteed.

Tried Hetzner? They're a little more expensive than OVH, but they're damn good.

Don't forget we are seeking for full Gigabit (or 2Gbit Trunked) unmetered.

You get a full Gigabit connection @ Hetzner, but no unmetered. Over their server limit and you have to pay pretty much.

Ok, A quite a bit more expensive. Also, if you are serving that hentai site I actually clicked on, then you probably draw a fair share of DDoS, which wouldn't work out very well with them.

Yeah, that's exactly what we want to avoid.

Our last DDoS goes back to early 2015. We mostly get bots on the site trying to steal content but I use heuristic detection with my Lua plugin for Nginx. For now, I am just worried about bandwidth. CloudFlare currently absorbs 65% of the traffic. The number (220-280TB) is what actually hits origin.

Seedbox, Plex server with 50+ users (2-5 active streams at once, had as high as 10), RDP server, some customers mail servers, cPanel server with about 100 sites.

  • I'm still requiring offers guys! Make sure I can use some kind of block storage

You're looking to save money or get quality ?

Something like 1.2 euro/TB, is that a lot?

Save money & Get Quality. We're currently looking at Digital Ocean's offering since they aren't counting bandwidth yet.

  • Online.net has an unlimited high-bandwidth add-on for 70 euro/month/server.... I don't know if that's sufficient though. And you may need to activate the business level support (35 euro/mo/server) to use it.

  • You should contact worldstream. Great network and probably within your budget. They are pretty flexible and I know some huge streaming sites using them.

Well although way about your budget there still is https://10gbps.io for streaming needs.
Starting at 370$/unmetered for 1Gbps with possibility for more.

  • There's always 100tb.com with 1PB (on 10gbit) for 900 usd.
