Wifi Frontpage?
Hey there,
So a friend runs a small Café and wants to offer WiFi to his customers/guests. He does not have any WiFi Software so he was asking me if it was possible to create a simple frontpage with ToS where each customer would be directed to first and has to agree to before being allowed to browse the web freely?
I was thinking about doing something with htaccess but never done smth like this until now so looking for ideas how to accomplish this without the use of expensive/additional software

Best bet would be to setup a captive portal. I believe you can do this with PFSense, which runs on some cheap wifi routers.
You can buy a cheap netgear router with dd wrt and setup a hotspot
You could try building one yourself with either some old hardware, an old laptop or a Raspberry Pi (depending on what has budget is).
I did a little googling and found this post which may help you out with capturing the clients.

It would then be a case of IPTables/BASH/PHP/other stuff to do the rest.
Thanks for the ideas guys looking into Netgear atm
Pfsense has a Captive Portal that'll fit your needs.
Ubiquity Unify access points
try ubiquiti unifi access points with untangle and its captive portal
I would recommend NATing the guest wifi from the main network as well or guests would be able to access other devices on the internal cafe network
