Wow, 125Gig for $9/yr? That is impressive...
i agree if you have a lot of daily traffic but for a daily 100MB in/out with odd all disk once a month then both offers are good for me
I wonder...how many people support Ramnode being in the league table? Thank this post to give a thumbs up.
@Nekki do you plan to set up Cyber Monday league table too?
Where do you see it?
I don't imagine there will be much to shout about come Monday.
$15/year plan with 40% promo :-/
@Nekki any thoughts on serverhub vs liteserver storage offers ?
Saw it, but what is "125Gig"?
SSD Cached
I have done very little analysis. I've also not seen a hell of a lot of feedback on server hub.
Oh, didn't see that.
But 250GB Transfer limit seems to be bad.
Quantify 'bad'.
Too low for me. I just have no idea why should I need 125GB while I can use only 250GB of transfer.
'Too low for me' does not equal bad. Say what you actually mean instead of making silly sweeping statements.
I'm not @Nekki but well, both seem quite good. Serverhub is cheaper but comes with less bandwidth. Enough for backups though!
Are they using OpenVZ or KVM or something else ?
For their SSD-Cached VPS ?
Just a heads up: Prometeus has an "Cyber Weekend, 20% discount on any new order" ongoing offer
Example: XenPower Milano, 2 vCore, 1024 MB RAM, 120 GB Hard Disk, 2000 GB Bandwidth, SolusVM, paid yearly (rather than monthly) = €28.80 (+VAT if you live in the EU)
Expensive
"It depends"
If you're looking for storage, as already pointed out, serverhub offers 125GB for $9, so there's no match
But if you compare RAM and bandwidth, the price is pretty alright
Liteserver.nl has probably the best compromise (e.g. on the KVM-STOR-256 offering)
Obviously it depends on your needs
it is openvz
I agree with Nekki, vstoike.ru dominated Black Friday this year. Others had decent offers, but, in my opinion, the crown goes to vstoike.ru in Russia.
Agree. I hope that those servers will work same good as now.
Well, I still remember some businesses of Johnny Nuggets which was uhm... also very promotional, but the quality was "very average".
But no, I don't want to compare vstoike to gvh, because there is nothing to compare regarding that matter.
Virtually no backup for Ramnode? In-ter-esting.
About the storage offers, I got the 60% off at Spartanhost. Maybe you should take a look people.
don't worry, I'd say it is not about their performance or anything, they just don't offer much of lowend anymore. attract people here with 128 MB OVZ for 15$ per year? not gonna happen...
really no offense meant, I had one of those 256MB/120GB ramnode OVZ at around 25 bucks for quite some time and never had any trouble with it. it's just not... lowend anymore ;-)
on a sidenote: I guess ramnode does know this very well and also didn't want to cope with all the hassle all those cheapskates brought with them. so they decided to abandon that kind of market anyway (probably a wise decision).
so I hold on to it: no place earned in lowend table of black friday offers ^^
Tells you more about the electorate than the candidates. 25% off by an established provider is nothing to sneeze at. Anybody who's looking to do more than hoard cheap holiday deals would appreciate it.
Pretty sure it's OpenVZ. I got one in Chicago and it's great! Network and Disk I/O are blazing fast and I had no trouble dumping a bunch of data to it
All these 3 VPS are using OpenVZ. You decide which one you need.
