Need a VPS in Europe for Gameservers
Been looking for a VPS in Europe on wich i can host a few CoD4 servers
Can't find anything wich suits my needs
What i need is:
2 CPU cores @ 2ghz+
1.5GB Ram
2TB Traffic (Yes, cod4 uses this much)
20GB disk (or more)
Budget ~$10 (Can be a bit more if the host is well known here )
If someone got any offer for me, PM me
Comments
2GB RAM
3 Core Xeon @ 2.8GhZ
2TB Traffic (If you want I'll put it up to 3 for free)
80GB Disk
1Gbps
SolarVM's offer hosted in The Netherlands.
PM me if interested
@solarvm no thanks
Wasn't looking buying from a host that advertises @ hackforums
2 CPU cores @ 3.30GHz
1.5GB Ram
3TB Traffic
20GB SSD
£20/month
@jhadley Great offer, but a bit over my budget
Will edit my first post with my budget
@joodle
We don't advertise on HF anymore
Will edit my first post with my budget
In a rush for setup? We have new server in UK ready for tomorrow (awaiting IP allocation)
2 Cores - E3-1230v2
40GB - 10k WD Velociraptor
1.5GB RAM
1.5GB vSwap
3TB - Gbit
Maidenhead, UK
$15 (Highest cost being bandwidth)
I know that hosts from Germany have cheaper traffic/bandwidth
Don't need the server today though
We can offer this:
4 CPU Cores @ 3.40GHz
2GB RAM, 768MB vSWAP
Traffic 1TB (if you go up to 2TB just a month or so, won't be a issue)
100GB HDD (RAID10)
Normally that's 30€, but today you can get it for 15.95€
Otherwise we can also do
4 CPU Cores @ 3.40 GHz
1GB RAM, 512MB vSWAP
Traffic 750GB (if you go up to 1.5 or 2TB just a month or so, won't be a issue)
50GB HDD (RAID10)
Normally that's 18€, but today 9.95€
@joodle
Does it have to be 1Gbps? Or are you fine with 100Mbps?
@joodle Must be dedicated cores and guaranteed cpu ressources?
I know this isn't a direct comparison, however for a year or so I 'inherited' one of the larger SA:MP servers/communities, average of ~90 players online.
Granted, SA:MP uses a lot less resources than CoD4, however Alvotech were great in their German location.
I was using a vServer plan; although vServer usually sucks, being able to utilise all the cores made this usage pretty damn awesome.
Anyway, I thought you were hosting your servers with Prometeus, any reason for the move?
No, shared is okay
Not moving Expanding
And i got some bad experience with Alvotech, lag spikes every few minutes
@joodle I can't offer you a vps but CoD4 isn't using that much. Or are you going to run it with mods and the redirect download from that server?
I've got over 2 years experience with cod4 servers, i know how much it uses when a server is full
I assume you will run multiple 64players servers?
50+ players yep
@joodle - we can offer you this
2GB RAM
100 GB HD
3TB BW @ 100mb/s
$11/month
This is at OVH, if you want other locations or different bandwidth configs please let me know.
Regards,
R. Alkhaili
@rsk i have send you a PM
I wouldn't recommend a VPS for gameservers..You'll have lagspikes from time to time even on the best hosts out there.
Well i'm hosting for almost a year @ a prometeus box and i never had any lag spikes on it
Maybe you didnt notice, we warn/restart/shutdown/suspend 1-2 VPSes in average every day for abuse, usually disk.
But there is some maneuvering space on almost every node, even for the non-biz plans so there can be some abuse for some time before the user is warned, only really bad cases get rebooted/shutdown without extensive warning.
@Maounique never had a warn from Prometeus
But CoD4 isn't spamming the disk, it's only using the disk a bit more then usual when it changes a map and thats like 3 seconds @ 10mb/s every 15-20 minutes
I didnt say you had, just that there are some abusers and theoretically it is possible that lag occurs, packet loss from DDoS and the like, but those are very rare and short.
However, for so many months i find it hard to believe it never happened. Not impossible, but maybe you didnt notice
@Maounique my VPS only rebooted like 3-4 times, but that was done by myself and one time with some maintenance @ the node
Prometeus is damn good.
