Looking For Dedicated Server (Custom Solution)
I am looking for a dedicated server with very specific usage. Here are my requirements.
Usage: Server will be used for non profit scientific computing. I only need raw processing power with multiple cores.
CPU: Minimum 2 Core CPU, More cores the better.
Hard Disk: Only 10GB Required. Nothing will be saved on this server, once data is processed result will be uploaded to central server.
Bandwidth: 10GB Per month.
Ram: 2GB
IP Address:1
Server Location: Doesn't Matter
Support Required: None.Generally I contact the support staff only If I lose access to server.
Budget Per Sever: Less then $40

up your budget to 50 $ and i can provide you this in Romania.
is that monthly/quarterly/yearly?
do you need a dedicated server or just dedicated cores you can stress out?
QuickPacket has $39/m dual L5420 (2x4c), QuadIX has $37/m dual L5630 (2x4c+hyperthreading)
just see this https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/90683/kvm-nvm-e-vps-p3600-nvm-e-2x-e5-2650v4-nodes-from-5-91-mo-dedicated-servers-from-16-mo#latest
https://budgetvm.com/cloud-server-hosting.php $29 and $39 per month
Not a dedicated. Buy one and try and run smart.
They are a KVM, what E3 that's not the L series has only 2 cores? None
Close enough and just a suggestion for the OP, not for you.
Just wanted to point it out as the OP requested a dedicated not a Virtual Machine.
Since your autism is flaring, you get full usage of the CPU and resources which is no different than a dedicated server. I've used the service with no issue and it meets the criteria of budget.
No need to assume things such as autism. The OP requested dedicated, that is not a dedicated.
The OP would be better going with something from WSI maybe grabbing a $15 C2D. That suits his needs and is half the price.
Would you consider
LEBDEDI18 18GB RAM - $20.00/m with 1IP
Intel Xeon E5640 (8cores HT)2.66 GHz
18GB RAM dedicated
4X146GB SAS 10K 6Gbs Storage
1TB Transfer (1 Gbps)

Hi,
I have this one in Dallas
you can also look at hetzner server bidding
Considering my requirements. Dedicated cores would be sufficient for my task.
Having looked through your requirements wouldn't Vultr, DO or another hourly provider be better suited maybe? That way you can spin up the VMs and do your number crunching then shut them down?
For the best scientific hash calculations you better get a dedicated gpu?
I'd guess it's more likely crunching 24/7 like boinc or something alike.
@ehsen I'll send you some offers ;-)
@ehsen a rpi would be awesome right?
Technically it is slightly, VM with Dedicated cores will still have lower performance than bare metal due to virtualization overhead and potentially noisy neighbours who while might not affect the CPU, might affect I/O or memory bandwidth for example.
Depends on the OP's requirements, but technically the request was for a Dedi.
