Need a VPS with reverse DNS support
I'm looking for a KVM OR OpenVZ VPS with reverse DNS (for YunoHost, which has a mail module)
Specs:
384MB RAM
Decent CPU (no dedicated cores needed)
50GB disk+ (for ownCloud)
KVM or OpenVZ, doesn't matter
1 IPv4 + 1 or more IPv6 (both with rDNS support)
Under $2.50/month, paid monthly or quarterly (willing to take a higher cost to be able to pay monthly)
EDIT: Also no ArubaCloud, I already have some services with them
EDIT 2: I don't care about location, but within the US is preferable.
Comments
We have a double resource promotion (RAM, disk, or bandwidth). Instant rDNS, /64 IPv6, and DDoS Mitigation in either Ashburn or Los Angeles.
Check my signature.
@Ishaq
PM'd, thanks for the offer
Do you prefer a specific location for this VPS? Might help giving some host recommendations :-)
I don't care about location, however I would prefer within the US.
EDIT: I only need 384MB RAM (re-read the min requirements for YunoHost, hopefully this can get me a lower price)
I personally think you'll find a much better deal when paying on quarterly base. It's hard to find a decent VPS for <$2,50 a month because of the payment fees :-).

New Jersey Location

You could go for scaleway, although based in france at 3 euro/month

PS My bad, I didn't see 50GB requirement.
@NodeBlade PM'd,
@teamacc Scaleway is nice (am definitely considering them), however I would prefer a cheaper plan than them (i.e last resort)
@bersy It doesn't seem they offer monthly/quarterly payments
We have the following, a little higher than your budget but close:
512MB RAM
1 core (L5520)
250gb disk
1TB bandwidth
1 x IPv4, 16 x IPv6
KVM
Reverse DNS for both IPv4 and IPv6
Located in Dallas, Texas
$3 per month, $2.85 per month if paid quarterly
Link and use coupon 'kvm40'
@SpartanHost
Seems that link is broken (leads to WHMCS homepage), I think it should be this: https://spartanhost.org/vps#storage
That is a very good offer, I am definitely considering that!
Thanks!
Oops, thanks for letting me know, fixed.
Check out my signature @virmach
@noaman
No monthly/qtrly payments though..
I think @virmach quaterly and monthly.... On a bigger deal then 6 bucks per year
Their $3/m 2GB/50GB SSD offer is still available, I am not sure whether they have an rDNS access or not. As for @noaman, he should be more attentive mentioning his sig in my book.
We do offer monthly - check out our other plans.
We manually set rDNS on request.
@bersy
That deal is also very nice, I'm definitely considering them.
Okay, I'm currently down to:
Ishaq - 512MB RAM (OVZ), $3/mo
Scaleway - 2GB RAM & 50GB Disk (KVM, I think), 2.99€/moApparently no v6 rDNS @ Scaleway, thanks to @Shot2
SpartanHost - 512MB RAM & a ton of disk (KVM), $3/month
VirMach - 2GB RAM & 50GB disk (OVZ), $3/month.
Cool!
EDIT: Forgot @NodeBlade:
512MB RAM, 75GB disk (OVZ), $2.40/mo
Scaleway is hourly, could always start there.
Scaleway has no IPv6 rDNS.
Do you prefer asia location? our vps support rDNS for ipv4 and ipv6
Check also INIZ lowend offers at OpenVZ.io, TragicServers latest ones, and HostUS 2GB special offer.
@virmach has already replied about reverse dns...
You just need to open a ticket for that
:-)
I would prefer it to be as close as possible to Detroit, which is near where I live (so i.e Chicago)
I can't seem to find the "lowend" offers on OpenVZ.io
The "extreme" plans are priced pretty lowend I think
Ehh, yeah, I guess so.
BudgetNode is a good choice, they have rDNS that can be set from SolusVM. More providers need this set up...
They are more expensive than some of the other providers that gave me offers though.
