Cheap Frankfurt/German or Amsterdam VPS on Level3?
Hey,
I'm looking for a VPS in Frankfurt - preferably, but other locations in Germany would be okay too - or Amsterdam from a provider peered with Level3.
I'd mostly use it as a VPN to watch Twitch, so I need a decent amount of BW but I don't care much about the rest, as long as TUN/TAP is enabled. Looking for a 2-3€/mo offer.
Thanks.
EDIT: No DigitalOcean please.

Noting that it doesn't quite match what you asked for, thought I'd put this here, just in case you want to try them out.

Thanks for the reply. I can see that I'm routed through Cogent when tracerouting to their LG, and unfortunately that route is heavily satured on evenings when watching Twitch so I'm trying to avoid it.
@AutoSnipe Thank you for the mention.
What exactly did you check? If a route is congested, we'd happy to change routing to improve our network quality.

Just a quick traceroute from my home in Paris, FR to your LG in Düsseldorf. My ISP (Orange AKA France Telecom) routes traffic to AMS and Germany through Cogent I believe, as shown below. The issue is that this route is super congested in the evenings because it's a major one, so I'm trying to go for Level3 because Twitch has a Level3 peering.

Hi,
we have KVM Rootservers with Level3 Connectivity through AS33891 (Core-Backbone) in Frankfurt.
You could use our Looking Glass to test the outbound routing towards your IP: http://lg.combahton.net/
Looks pretty spot on. Are they reliable? Not that I expect much for 1€/mo, but I'd still not get scammed haha.
Well, that's just what I'm looking for - minus the price tag, unfortunately. I'm not willing to spend more than a couple of bucks per month for a VPS I use one evening per week or so. Thanks for the offer though!
Unfortunately, we can't change the routing for incoming traffic. Outgoing traffic should be routed via Level 3 for our DE location, so you shouldn't suffer from a possible congestion between Cogent and France Telecom.
We have direct peering with Level 3 as well (AS3356 and AS3549), but this is located in Rotterdam, not Amsterdam. I will be happy to do you a custom plan with 10 GB HDD, 1 core, 512 MB RAM and 500 GB bandwidth for €2.5/mo if the network meets your needs. You can use the looking glass here.
Look into this thread https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/61015/vmware-vps-with-1gb-ram-20gb-ssd-2tb-traffic-in-uk-fr-de-it-cz-for-12eur-year they are reliable. you won't find a better deal for 1 euro
Oops, this was bullshit
Level3 is one of ZXHost's peers http://bandwidth.zxhost.co.uk/ 23Media. They used to offer yearly 1GB KVM servers within your budget, @AshleyUk might still have some of them in stock.
It's KVM for now.
We can offer a node in Nurmbeg with Hetzner.
