@online.net (Dedibox SC SATA 2016) - only CentOS 7.2 - how to install CentOS 6.x?
Is it possible to install CentOS 6.8 from Rescue mode or some thing on a @online.net (Dedibox SC SATA 2016)? They do only offer 7.2, and my auto setup script don't work on 7.x
Can I use the same principle as I use for making Windows templates, just make a CentOS 6.8 template, then use console to change the network settings?
Anybody tried this before?
Are there any more easy way?
Comments
proxmox
Will I need a second IP for the CentOS server then?
you can always dd over remotely. should be easy
I run CentOS 6.8 on my XC SSD 2016. It must be installed via rescue mode.
Boot into rescue, setup a temp KVM session (you may need to add the KVM kernel module to the rescue image), then format the HDD and install that way?
With KVM you can use the iso from Online.

Edit: That is of course if SC Sata supports loading ISO's via iDrac/Lilo etc.

anyone have windows image for XC 2016?
I didn't success with kimsufitemplate
You need to manually install it through rescue mode.
Any tutorial?
I'm using jodlle methode not work.
There is no KVM on SC/XC 2016. Only serial console which is completely incompatible with CentOS So be prepared to fix issues with ultra fast typing GRUB commands on start before it automatically adds /n to each character you type
It works perfectly stable. It worked horrible via Proxmox, a total waste of resources and you need additional IPv4 or deal with crazy IPv6 configs.

read this - https://documentation.online.net/en/dedicated-server/operating-system/custom-install/install-from-kvm-dedibox-xc
you can find the windows iso to mount from here
https://virtualmedia.online.net/windows/
not sure this method would work on your server though since it needs kvm over ip
Windows won't work natively on these machines because there is no GPU which is needed to install Windows.
Love my SC 2016, these things rock
But on console panel there are an option to install windows standar 2012.
How they install windows on XC 2016?
Via KVM (Virtual Environment)
If you need native and free then get 2015 series.
There is a guy who can install Windows on Online XC 2016 (baremetal) https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/1755192/#Comment_1755192
Sadly also via emulation ;(
Look like I have to update my sites to CentOS 7. And drop Windows....
Still working on it
Hope my XC 2016 pingable. still unsuccess with SetupBD.exe /s /nr for installation intel card
Read the whole threads there. Use the task scheduler to install it and make sure to force rerun the installer when its fails.

Hello friend,
Happy to see that you managed to get it working. I've used your Windows 10 image and it worked perfect!
Do you mind sharing how exactly you did to install the Intel network driver? I tried using task scheduler for it, but even with confirmation that the task ran bare-metal, the driver never get installed. If you could provide which version exactly you used, and the task parameters, it would be really helpful.
Thank you!
Hi,
I install all intel driver to windows 10 with this method:
Download driver for intel card from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/59679/Intel-Ethernet-Controller-I350-Series
extract driver .exe from download above with winrar
run this command to install each driver
now i'm creating windows 10 image for all in one network driver.
so just want to confirm you get it working fully now without any problem and able to control it properly without any issues via rdp ?
