Looking for a VPS on Cogent network (U.S.)
Need a VPS on a Cogent network (single-homed, no other upstreams), on IP space announced directly by Cogent AS.
Location: Anywhere in the U.S.
512 MB RAM
5 GB HDD
10 mbit uplink speed is enough
Budget: up to $50/year, will pay annually
Provider must be in business for at least 1 year and with public whois info.
Purpose: for ping.pe

LunaNode Toronto could work if you don't mind being a few ms outside of the states. I believe they're in Cogent's Toronto DC.
Interesting. I generally try to avoid Cogent...
@mikeyur
Thanks, Toronto is better than nothing
I like that they are in the actual cogent DC. If there will be no other suggestions we will go with them.
@raindog308
As much as we dislike Cogent (especially after we had very negative experience with them first hand), for ping.pe it is quite important to have a few single-homed VPS with major carriers to be able to troubleshoot routing issues. Ideally we'd want to have VPS with TWC, Comcast, AT&T etc but it does not seem like it is feasible.
Cogent does have a looking glass for this.
Quadranet Chicago? It's a new location, and pure cogent I believe.
@MarkTurner does it have an API?
@Riz Thanks, AFAIK Quadranet uses their own IPs/ASN, we need an actual Cogent AS announcing the IPs.
Why not write your own to it, not like it changed in the last 10 years.
@Fusl
Thanks, we'd much rather just have an actual VPS
Which gives you one location fed by 2-4 (depending on city, Toronto is 2, one west and one US bound plus some very minor local Tier1 peerings) uplinks instead of 10+ major POPs where Cogent actually does large contracts in major cities (and Toronto is not one of them) and has star bound (5+) links out (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Paris etc.).
We actually only need 1, there is very little benefit (for what we are trying to achieve) in having more.
