I'm curious.
- 15GB RAID10 Pure SSD Space
- 50GB SSD Cached 7.2K RPM Drives
- 25GB SSD Cached 10K RPM Drives
- 50GB RAID10 10K RPM Drives
- 100GB RAID10 7.2K RPM Drives
- 20GB RAID10 15K RPM Drives
Pick one.

Price?
@Taz Price is same for all options. I don't have a definitive price, but all the options will have the same price.
How much are we talking about?
I assume same price for all the choices.
50GB SSD Cached 7.2K RPM Drives
~$14-16 w/1GB RAM
I will go with option 2 (assuming Gbit and not traditional 100mbps)
Of course it'll be gigabit, on Incero's awesome network
#2
I'm new to using SSD cache, and I'm not sure what to make the ratio of SSD to HDD. Right now I'm looking at 1:8 (128GB SSD per 1TB HDD), but I don't think that's enough.
It might be harder on KVM than on OVZ
50GB SSD Cached 7.2K RPM Drives
or
100GB RAID10 7.2K RPM Drives
Sorry, but this price is over LET limit
This isn't a offer. Also, if we do a LEB/T deal with these KVM VPSes, we'll advertise a 512MB plan which will be within the LEB/T limit.
He's not offering anything?
I'd go for the first option. I don't need a ton of storage for most things.
Option 2
I would pick Option 3
1 or 2, depending on what I'm using it for.
The thing is, I want to run the SSD Cache in RAID0, however LSI CacheCade also uses the SSD as a write cache, which means if one of the SSDs die, then there will be data loss.
You can set it to write through (caching reads only).
mmm. I think I may run the cache in RAID1 (less cache space & performance), as I think write cache is just as important (or is it?).
I'm not a fan of tradeoffs personally so I'm not the one to ask.
@Nick_A I only have 4 drive bays to work with, so it is pretty difficult to not have a tradeoff.
@Maounique What do you mean?
Pretty sure Incero offers 8 drive bays.
3rd option
7.2k throughput doesn't seem to be right. 10K FTW
Since you are using cachecade will not matter, I thought you will use the regular way, with kernel module.
I pick Raid10 10K
Are your SSD-cached nodes 2U? or are only the SSD one's RAID10?
@concerto49 Yes they do, however upgrade pricing is far higher for those to cover the cost of the bigger chassis.
ie. RAID Card w/BBU - $25 for 4 bay, $75 for 8 bay. Same Card.
120GB SSDs - $10 for 4 bay, $20 for 8 bay.
16GB RAM - $30 for 4 bay, $50 for 8 bay.
As a result of these increased prices, we can't really offer our KVM services at the price point we want.
I'm voting for pure SSD space.
