Yeah... I really really hate it when people do that. Insignificant or not, all the uninformed reader knows is that something happened that the OP considered worth wiping from everyone's memory. Archiving of data is part of what makes a forum. Volatile posting is not cool.
Taking a stand against it. Content placed back, thread closed. Maybe someone sees this later and is like "Hey what is Pancake?" So they click the link, discover something new. That's part of what makes forums great.
