Isn't AS just used for BGP routing? So I'm assuming all these hosts have their own BGP routers as well as their own routing policy?
Yes, the AS number is used for routing purposes. They have have the AS added to someone else's router, but that seems foolish. I think it's safe to assume all these do their own routing.
